Also she did my laundry once a week and would always keep the room clean which is not take-for-granted! I stayed with David in July 2020. I am no longer a student (31 years old), but I wanted to get back to English. So I went on an adventure just a month after resuming classes and with a basic level close to nothing. The welcome is really great, and your hosts will make an effort to help you (as long as you make an effort on your side too!). David hosts students (but not only, as proof) and he is accompanied by an au pair (Carla at the time, a wonderful girl ;-)). She is responsible (beyond household tasks) for assisting him in hosting the guests and often speaks several languages (with English still being a must!). His daughter Rachel is also regularly present, very kind, and attentive. You share meals together and can enjoy many visits, walks, and activities if you wish. I just recommend being proactive during the stay (having the will to progress and communicate with your hosts) if you want to make the most of it. I definitely recommend this stay; you won't be disappointed if you put in the effort and will have the chance to discover David's humor (100% British guaranteed).

Our son, Jean, had a wonderful stay with Fiachra: full immersion (with lots of interaction and activities!), his Year-10 work placement validated by shadowing Fiachra at work, and a perfect relationship with Fiachra and his family (Jean truly felt like a member of the family!). And as the cherry on top, Fatima is an exceptional cook… Communication with Fiachra was very smooth before the stay, and the same goes for the Linguifamily team. In short, the perfect language stay!

With the goal of improving my English, I chose to spend a week in total immersion in England, with intensive lessons. Hello, I’m packing my bags to return to France after spending two weeks at Maria’s. The stay was very pleasant — the family welcomed me as if I were one of their own. Together with Maria, we went on six outings during which I discovered Malta’s monuments, hidden gems, and tourist sites. I stayed for three weeks with Stephen and Helen in Donegal, Ireland. I experienced unforgettable moments with their family, and I learned about the cultural traditions of their region. It was an incredible experience. I also had the opportunity to spend a week volunteering at a Child Care Center, which allowed me to develop new skills (speaking English with 3-year-old children was a real challenge!). I warmly thank the whole family of Stephen for their hospitality, as well as Solène from Linguifamily, who pre-selected a host family that met both my objectives: a stay in Ireland AND volunteering. Linguifamily has developed a very good idea by allowing families to get in touch and organize language stays with each other. One must take the time to discuss and make sure everything 'matches' and organize the stay themselves (dates, travel, documents), but Linguifamily guides and reminds us of what we need to do. It’s different from the standard packages offered by other agencies. I find this enriching system because it strongly involves both families in the preparation. The first immersion stay (without lessons) for our son was perfect, and the Spanish host family was very attentive and fully integrated him into their daily life and vacation activities. He came back with great memories and is ready to go again.
