Like my predecessor, I hesitate to give my comment for fear that everyone will rush to Caitriona :) It was a wonderful first experience for our 16-year-old daughter. Caitriona is fantastic: she is super nice and ultra-dynamic, and she takes care of her guest 100%. The activities were very varied (visits in Belgium, cycling, treetop adventure, museum, cricket, beach, cooking, ...) and especially conducive to speaking, speaking, and speaking English so much so that my daughter even spoke English in Dunkirk in a store :) The relationships with the parents are very reassuring too. Everything was really perfect, and I am convinced that we will stay in touch.

They say that chance does things well: this proverb (very French?) could have been invented for our son's stay with Caitriona. Our son was her first guest after she registered on linguifamily, and charmed by her ad, we decided to try the experience a few days later. It was simply perfect! Our son (17 years old, in CPGE) really needed to improve his English. He was able to practice all week on different occasions, particularly with friends of his host who were able to introduce him (work with him) to different accents. We chose a few hours of lessons each day to review the basics, and Caitriona managed to integrate them (for example on the train!) into an exceptional stay itinerary: a trip to Belgium for some waffles and chocolate, discovering monuments, cycling, climbing, evenings with friends, hide-and-seek with the little kitten of the house, jacuzzi… Caitriona was truly attentive to our big boy, who loved his stay and his host. No comments on the daughter of the house, who was absent during the stay, but who undoubtedly has all her mother's kindness. Our only reservation: saying good things about her will obviously create a high demand, which is well-deserved, but we'll need to book places for future stays for our big one or his little brother very quickly. There is no doubt that your children will be perfectly welcomed.

Our son, Jean, had a wonderful stay with Fiachra: full immersion (with lots of interaction and activities!), his Year-10 work placement validated by shadowing Fiachra at work, and a perfect relationship with Fiachra and his family (Jean truly felt like a member of the family!). And as the cherry on top, Fatima is an exceptional cook… Communication with Fiachra was very smooth before the stay, and the same goes for the Linguifamily team. In short, the perfect language stay!

With the goal of improving my English, I chose to spend a week in total immersion in England, with intensive lessons. Hello, I’m packing my bags to return to France after spending two weeks at Maria’s. The stay was very pleasant — the family welcomed me as if I were one of their own. Together with Maria, we went on six outings during which I discovered Malta’s monuments, hidden gems, and tourist sites. I stayed for three weeks with Stephen and Helen in Donegal, Ireland. I experienced unforgettable moments with their family, and I learned about the cultural traditions of their region. It was an incredible experience. I also had the opportunity to spend a week volunteering at a Child Care Center, which allowed me to develop new skills (speaking English with 3-year-old children was a real challenge!). I warmly thank the whole family of Stephen for their hospitality, as well as Solène from Linguifamily, who pre-selected a host family that met both my objectives: a stay in Ireland AND volunteering. Linguifamily has developed a very good idea by allowing families to get in touch and organize language stays with each other. One must take the time to discuss and make sure everything 'matches' and organize the stay themselves (dates, travel, documents), but Linguifamily guides and reminds us of what we need to do. It’s different from the standard packages offered by other agencies. I find this enriching system because it strongly involves both families in the preparation. The first immersion stay (without lessons) for our son was perfect, and the Spanish host family was very attentive and fully integrated him into their daily life and vacation activities. He came back with great memories and is ready to go again.
