Every morning, the trainees have an English lesson reserved in advance with Francine, a qualified TEFL teacher with over 20 years of experience. The lessons are always fun and relaxed, tailored to each person's level and age. The goal of the week is to help the trainee build confidence and expand their vocabulary through various activities.
After the lesson, everyone receives homework and activities to complete for the next day. There is also an English book to read throughout the week, chosen according to their age and level.
We have meals together and encourage interaction and expression in English as much as possible. Francine is a great cook and always tries to introduce the trainees to typical British cuisine using authentic ingredients from the UK. Every evening, we have a traditional British dessert that the children can help prepare in the afternoon.
In the afternoon, several activities are available, such as horse riding, go-karting, cycling, bowling, escape rooms, kayaking, and many more. When they return early in the evening, they usually go to the pool or play ping-pong in the garden.
After the evening meal, we play board games in English, watch a DVD in English, sing karaoke songs in English, and do homework for the next day. We also have a large City Park in the village that offers tennis courts, football and basketball fields, and is always very popular with my children and our guests.
Vendée is famous for its sunny climate, so we are always active and outdoors in the summer, which is why I think the trainees who come to us always have a great time while immersing themselves in the English language and culture.
