Welcome to Barbara-Ann's in Provence
I am Irish and mother of a 28 year old daughter, who grew up in a bilingual environment with a French father and an Irish mother. My daughter lives in Ireland and I am divorced. I am a member of the Teaching Council of Ireland. My teaching qualification is the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Masters) from the University of Maynooth, Ireland. I teach English and French in person and online. I enjoy hosting and teaching languages here in Provence. With Linguifamily, 2 hours of lessons per day are to be booked with your stay. That way, you are sure to make progress in English. These lessons will suit your needs and then activities/visits will be organised to suit your interests. You have your own large bedroom. My town, Lorgues, is really friendly and welcoming with lots of opportunities to speak English with the expats living here all year round. We are surrounded by the beautiful vineyards of Provence and only a 45 minute drive to the beaches.
I can pick up and drop off to Nice Airport. Upon arrival, I will show you around my home, set your devices up on WIFI, and answer any questions you may have, including local transport. Our town of Lorgues has all the facilities you could need, and I will be happy to explain the facilities of interest to you. Each morning, we start the day with breakfast and getting ready for the day ahead.
2 hours of lessons (to be booked when reserving your stay) either in the morning or the afternoon, depending on your chosen activities. We do activities/visits every day - The Tuesday morning market in Lorgues is extremely popular and attracts tourists from all parts of Provence, which makes Tuesday morning here really international! Other activities include nature walks, cycling, visits by car to villages and towns in Provence, Provençal markets, museums, local waterfalls, etc. It is possible to visit Nice, depending on flight times for an additional transfer or by adding this option.
We prepare and eat our meals together and chat in English. In the evenings, we watch movies/documentaries at home or go to our local cinema to watch a movie in VO. Afterwards, we will talk about the movie/documentary. I look forward to meeting you!
