Welcome to our family home
We are Ophélie, Oscar, Camille, and Pauline, a cosmopolitan family. We have three nationalities: French, American, and Peruvian.
We speak French, English, and Spanish.
We have two daughters, aged 3 and 5.
We are passionate about languages and cultures from around the world. We have traveled extensively around the world, which is why we would be delighted to share our passion for languages and discovering other cultures.
I (the mom) also have a degree in teaching French as a foreign language obtained in the United States. I have taught in London and Paris as well. Therefore, I can give lessons in French and English if you wish.
You will have a choice in our house, and you can choose before your arrival the language you would like to speak. Whether it's French, English, or Spanish, we are trilingual.
We have already welcomed young teens from Germany as well as teens from the United States. It is always a unique experience rich in discovery and emotion.
We love to cook and share our dishes with family and friends on weekends.
We enjoy bike rides, going to the park, being by the sea, traveling, and discovering culinary dishes.
Depending on your desire, we can organize days of horseback riding, surfing, visiting castles, tree climbing, sailing, etc. We just need to discuss it if your child is interested.
We can pick up your child at the La Rochelle train station, as well as in Nantes, Poitiers, or Bordeaux. This will also be discussed together during our exchange.

We have a room with two single beds. It can accommodate one or two people. The bathroom is shared with the family.
We have a second room that has its own bathroom, which is for a slightly older teenager.
If young people prefer to have their own room, we have a second room on the ground floor.
The day begins around 8:00-8:30 AM, and we have breakfast as a family. It's very important to us.
In the morning and afternoon, we go for a bike ride along the coast, in the park, or in the old town of La Rochelle.
Thanks to the train, which is 8 minutes by car or 10 minutes by bike, we can discover other seaside resorts and historical sites such as the old town of Rochefort, Fouras, and Saintes.
There is the magnificent Île de Ré just 15 minutes by car from our home. We can even plan a surfing lesson there, do plenty of hikes in the woods by the sea. It's a magical place.
Dinner takes place between 7:00 and 7:30 PM, as a family.
We often end the evening with a board game as a family.
