My 14-year-old daughter had a very pleasant stay with Anita's family. Warm welcome, numerous activities, and lots of pets!
Returning to Lille to Caitriona in February after a first experience this summer. The weather was different and Suzie was present this time. Our daughter came back delighted from these very girly days. Always a lot of attention from Caitriona who is very dynamic and offers numerous activities (painting, cinema, museum, concert, biking, cooking, ...). A relationship based on complete trust. Thank you for the stay and all the photos :)
It was really great! Thanks again and for all travelers, I recommend it with my eyes closed!! A true little corner of paradise in the sun and the hosts are very nice!
A great experience but probably the most exciting time in my life so far. Staying with Mary, her children and her family made me feel warmly welcome. I did not just live in the same house but was integrated in the family’s life. We visited the zoo, dog and horse shows, went shopping, to plays and to different destinations and cities the weekends. As Mary is such an open and friendly person there has been friends coming over and vice versa. I have always been a part of the household and got invited as well. Apart from that hospitality Mary made horse riding for me possible as she knew how much I loved it. The great Halloween party was one of the highlights during fall and something I probably won’t forget. I can only rave about her dogs which I still miss sometimes. Waking up in the morning and seeing the beautiful nature is exactly what you imagine when going to Ireland as a student from abroad. I could carry on talking about the evenings of watching the X-factor, the afternoons I spent playing with Morgan and Marley or the luxury of coming home from school and being able to sit down at the fireplace eating a warm dinner while talking with Tina and the lads. I can say that I couldn’t imagine how my time abroad would have been nearly as fun, exciting and rememberable if it was not for Mary and her family. If I’ve given the chance of going again, I wouldn’t think twice and take the next flight. My time with the family was great! Rebecca
Mathys wanted to return to Patrick and Helen for a second stay which went really well again. A warm, caring, educational welcome! All the ingredients are gathered to have a good time learning the language. Pure happiness!
I had the pleasure of spending 5 months with Bea, Javi and the kids as their Au Pair before covid and they invited me back a second time so I spent the whole 20/21 academic year with them. Before I came to Spain I didn’t speak a single word of Spanish, had never spent more than a week away from my family and I was the pickiest eater in my family. I spent the first couple of days getting to know Bea, Javi and the kids and acclimatising to Spain, but I instantly felt like I was a part of their family. I started trying new foods for the first time (sushi on day 4) because I wanted to, even though they offered to cook chicken for me. They have lunch and dinner together which was a new experience for me, but it allows everyone to talk about their day and how they’re feeling. I felt comfortable and supported and I opened up more about my own life in Scotland. They are a very active family and I joined in with their many activities, swimming, mushroom picking, baking and playing board games to name a few. They taught me the basics of the Spanish language and encouraged me to use it when I felt comfortable. We went on many adventures throughout my time, I’ve been to more places in Spain in 2 years than I’ve been to in Scotland in 25! They also helped me secure a full time job at an English Academy and are still helping me through my application for temporary residency in Spain. I still live in the same city and we have a close relationship with each other. I take the kids to the cinema and have movie nights with them too. I honestly couldn’t be an Au Pair again simply because I had such a great experience with them. They really are an amazing family to be a part of. Shanna
Hello, my name is Heini, I am from Finland, and I have lived with Elena and her family for 5 months. It has been one of my best experiences, they are a fabulous family that has helped me a lot to learn Spanish. Elena explains very well and speaks Spanish very well. I have made many memories with the family and I still talk to them after 7 years. It has been an incredible experience!
Hello, I am Alonso, a student from Santander in the north of Spain, in the time that I have been in Ireland, it has been a very positive adventure and I have had a great time with Mary, her children Morgan and Marley and Merle who was the other student that came from Germany, we made many excursions to beautiful places, the food was very good and very healthy, also if you want you can sign up to do some sport such as athletics or GAA. The house was very big, and my room was very cozy, Marley and Morgan, they are charming and affectionate and you can have a great time with them playing in the house that has a very large garden, they also have 3 dogs and a beautiful white rabbit. At Hallowen we all decorate the house inside and out and play very creative games. They were always very attentive to what I needed, and I was like at home. This experience is recommended for any student or person for their educational and social training.
At Max and Nadia's, the word "welcome" is taken seriously! The place, a bit remote from Mendoza, is in a very nice neighborhood, quiet and easily accessible by bus from downtown Mendoza. All the shops/cafés/restaurants/bike rentals are within walking distance. Nadia is excellent for advice on wineries as well as activities and restaurants in the area! They also offered to take us on a tour to Aconcagua and spend a wonderful day exploring the area! Nadia is also an excellent smartphone photographer. Finally, she really took great care of us and helped us with our various questions or concerns that we can have while traveling. All of this with the biggest smile and great availability! Therefore, we warmly recommend a stay with them, especially for several days!
We had a very nice stay with David, Rachel, and Sandra! A family full of energy, humor, and joy. An unforgettable experience through the discovery of the language, culture, wonderful places to explore, and not forgetting the little professional experience in the charity shop which will give your CV a boost! Are you an adventurer or is this your first experience in adventure like us? Do you want to take on the challenge of immersion like we did... Then try your stay with David and fully enjoy what you wish to discover :)
Paul-Philippe, our 15-year-old son, just spent 10 days (Christmas included) at Melissa and Colin's. They are wonderful people. Paul-Philippe really enjoyed being with them. He was very well received; everything was perfect from the first day. Colin and Melissa and their three children form a reassuring and loving family. Our son has been traveling abroad since he was 8 years old. At Melissa, Colin, and their children's home, he felt like he was with his own family. They made sure to give their time with a lot of joy and attention to our son, for example, by participating in the preparation of the Christmas meal... a real family life as we like it... This very good integration greatly helped Paul-Philippe improve his English skills. Melissa and Colin are so charming and caring that they corrected his sentences to help him improve. We highly recommend them.
lovely people, very welcoming, friendly an adorable cat and taking care of the horses is happiness to recommend

A language stay is much more than just a trip abroad. It's a cultural immersion, a unique learning opportunity, and a powerful human experience. Whether you're a teenager, a student or an adult, choosing a language stay with a host family lets you live the language every day. Linguifamily is the first French platform for language stays for teens, students and adults, making immersion easy by connecting you directly with carefully selected hosts in more than ten countries worldwide.
Each language stay takes place in a warm, welcoming and safe family environment. Far from traditional summer-camp or campus-style formats, this one-to-one approach encourages genuine connections and real cultural anchoring. You can choose from many destinations: a language stay in Ireland, a language stay in England, a language stay in Canada, a language stay in Malta, a language stay in Spain, a language stay in South Africa, a language stay in the United States, a language stay in Italy, a language stay in Dubai… all through a simple interface and continuous support.
The platform offers total transparency: detailed host family profiles, integrated messaging, booking management, and 24/7 support. This enables everyone to plan their language stay with peace of mind, depending on their goals: improve your English, discover a new culture, become more independent, or enjoy a rewarding language exchange.
Language stays for teens are designed to meet the specific needs of young people aged 10 to 18. This format helps teenagers make fast progress in a language while enjoying an unforgettable human and cultural experience. Thanks to host family accommodation, every language stay for teens becomes total immersion: young participants practise the language from morning to night, in a caring environment.
Among the most popular destinations for teens is a language stay in London, highly appreciated for its cultural richness and the variety of activities on offer. Language stays in London combine discovering the British capital with natural English learning, while being hosted by a local family. The experience is just as captivating in other English-speaking countries such as Ireland, where a language stay in Ireland offers immersion in a calmer, greener setting.
Host families are selected according to strict criteria: ability to host young people, a safe family environment, and the motivation to share their culture. Language stays for teenagers often include local activities, excursions or entertainment, which helps integration and boosts motivation to speak the language. We have also been offering Summer Camps for teens since this year.
For teens looking for something more exotic, a language stay in South Africa offers a completely different experience. In addition to learning English, they discover a rich culture and spectacular nature. It's an excellent way to combine language learning, adventure and open-mindedness.
Language stays for adults are aimed at a wide audience: post-secondary students, career changers, professionals, or simply language lovers. Learning doesn't stop at school, and a language stay for adults makes it possible to restart or improve a language in a practical and stimulating context.
This format offers many possibilities: you can choose an English language stay in a city like London or Dublin, or opt for a sunnier, more relaxed destination such as a language stay in Malta. Each destination offers a suitable pace, with host families ready to adapt to your specific needs.
Language stays in the USA are also in high demand: spending a few weeks with an American family lets you dive into local culture, pick up authentic expressions, and significantly improve your spoken fluency. For this, the language stay in the USA offered by Linguifamily is fully customisable.
It's also possible to stay closer to home while still enjoying real immersion. A language stay in France is ideal for foreign learners or French speakers who want to improve a regional language or a foreign language with a bilingual host. It also helps avoid the constraints linked to international travel.
For those who want to improve without breaking the bank, Linguifamily also offers affordable language stays, by targeting certain destinations off-season or shorter formats. The accessible price does not compromise the quality of the welcome or the intensity of immersion.
The effectiveness of a language stay largely relies on total immersion and natural exchanges with the host family. Far from a classroom method, learning happens through practice: you learn by speaking, listening, and sharing everyday moments. That's what makes this format faster and more memorable than traditional lessons.
One of the key strengths of this approach is flexibility. Every family is different, and each participant can choose the environment that suits them: urban, rural, lively or quiet. It's also possible to filter by interests, languages spoken, or the type of activities offered during the stay.
Language stays in England remain an essential reference. Thanks to its proximity to France, travel is easy and the experience stays immersive. You'll practise rich English while being exposed to a wide variety of accents depending on the region. Others choose English language stays in Canada, where the environment is bilingual, or in more distant countries such as South Africa for a more intense immersion.
By choosing a language stay in Canada, participants enjoy a warm welcome, a safe environment, and North American-paced English. This type of stay is particularly popular with students and young professionals looking to work internationally or prepare for exams such as TOEIC or IELTS.
