We thank Suzanne and her family for their excellent hospitality and commitment during our son's 3-week stay, Emilien, 17 years old. Emilien greatly appreciated the activities offered, the relationships with the family, and the lessons with Suzanne and her daughters. This was my first experience of a language immersion course but any concerns that I may have had were quickly dispelled on meeting Christine. I received a warm welcome and was made to feel very comfortable in her lovely home. My requirements for the language course were discussed and Christine's flexible approach enabled the course to be tailored to meet my needs. The course not only provided me with an excellent environment in which to improve my language skills but also an opportunity to discover Le Bretagne for the first time with sightseeing trips, coastal walks and the savoring of the culinary delights of the region. The 'Cooking with Words' course as a whole has much to offer, in particular for me, a solo female, it was comfortable and reassuring to be in Christine's company and I very much appreciated her kindness, her ability to make me feel very much at home during my stay and her lovely sense of humor, not least her dedication to her teaching profession and her pride in her Breton heritage.

Our son, Jean, had a wonderful stay with Fiachra: full immersion (with lots of interaction and activities!), his Year-10 work placement validated by shadowing Fiachra at work, and a perfect relationship with Fiachra and his family (Jean truly felt like a member of the family!). And as the cherry on top, Fatima is an exceptional cook… Communication with Fiachra was very smooth before the stay, and the same goes for the Linguifamily team. In short, the perfect language stay!

With the goal of improving my English, I chose to spend a week in total immersion in England, with intensive lessons. Hello, I’m packing my bags to return to France after spending two weeks at Maria’s. The stay was very pleasant — the family welcomed me as if I were one of their own. Together with Maria, we went on six outings during which I discovered Malta’s monuments, hidden gems, and tourist sites. I stayed for three weeks with Stephen and Helen in Donegal, Ireland. I experienced unforgettable moments with their family, and I learned about the cultural traditions of their region. It was an incredible experience. I also had the opportunity to spend a week volunteering at a Child Care Center, which allowed me to develop new skills (speaking English with 3-year-old children was a real challenge!). I warmly thank the whole family of Stephen for their hospitality, as well as Solène from Linguifamily, who pre-selected a host family that met both my objectives: a stay in Ireland AND volunteering. Linguifamily has developed a very good idea by allowing families to get in touch and organize language stays with each other. One must take the time to discuss and make sure everything 'matches' and organize the stay themselves (dates, travel, documents), but Linguifamily guides and reminds us of what we need to do. It’s different from the standard packages offered by other agencies. I find this enriching system because it strongly involves both families in the preparation. The first immersion stay (without lessons) for our son was perfect, and the Spanish host family was very attentive and fully integrated him into their daily life and vacation activities. He came back with great memories and is ready to go again.
