I myself lived in the large apartment for half a year. Honestly, I can recommend to everyone: if you are looking for a room in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, choose Villa Sueños. The location of the house is perfect: you are within walking distance of the city center, there are many restaurants nearby, and there is a tram station just a 3-minute walk away. You can also reach the central station in a 30-minute walk with the tram (15 minutes). The rooms are very spacious and fully equipped (wardrobe, double bed, bedside table, desk). The house has 1 shared kitchen and 2 bathrooms, 1 of which is normal size and 1 is small. There is also a rooftop terrace. There is 1 washing machine and clothes can be dried on the rooftop drying rack or, if it rains, at the laundromat on the corner. The owners of Villa Sueños are very nice people! They can tell you all about the Canary Islands and are available 24/7 if you need anything. For example: I broke my wrist in Tenerife and had to go to the hospital. After waiting 7 hours in the hospital and a dead phone, they were outside the hospital waiting for me at 10:30 p.m. to take me in. These people have a big, golden heart! They also live in the house as mentioned, but I liked that.

It was my first time when I left my country for that long and I thought it's going to be pretty difficult - I was mistaken. I had a great time with Aida, Javi, Dani and the other Erasmus students who lived here during those 5 months, everything felt like home to me. It was an unforgettable experience through the discovery of the culture, the language and of course, the wonderful places. I can call myself lucky because I found Villa Suenos, this is the perfect place to make memories. Bonus: Javi is the BBQ king! + everything you want to find out about the island, they have the answer!

My daughter Eléonore (16 years old) stayed for 5 weeks during the period of April-May 2022. Javier le compagnon d'Aida nous cuisinait toujours de bons petits plats qu'on mangeait sur l'azotea (la terrasse sur le toit), on l'appelait "El hombre del fuego" !! A first experience in a host family!!! A real pleasure... Elaine and Victor took great care of us!!! And their children are super nice and adorable. The rooms are like in a hotel (TV, desk, etc....), private bathroom. Everything is very clean.... Living daily life with Elaine and Victor is a true joy!!! You can come and discover Malta with your eyes closed!!!! Elaine will suggest the best places to visit, she will help you visit places at the best times (avoiding crowds) and to discover beautiful less touristy spots.

I spent a great stay with Mary, I learnt a lot of vocabularies, and I improved my English skills. I loved to take care of the horse, and Mary proposed a lot of great activities: horse riding lesson, rugby, gaelic football. Our son, Jean, had a wonderful stay with Fiachra: full immersion (with lots of interaction and activities!), his Year-10 work placement validated by shadowing Fiachra at work, and a perfect relationship with Fiachra and his family (Jean truly felt like a member of the family!). And as the cherry on top, Fatima is an exceptional cook… Communication with Fiachra was very smooth before the stay, and the same goes for the Linguifamily team. In short, the perfect language stay!

With the goal of improving my English, I chose to spend a week in total immersion in England, with intensive lessons. Hello, I’m packing my bags to return to France after spending two weeks at Maria’s. The stay was very pleasant — the family welcomed me as if I were one of their own. Together with Maria, we went on six outings during which I discovered Malta’s monuments, hidden gems, and tourist sites. I stayed for three weeks with Stephen and Helen in Donegal, Ireland. I experienced unforgettable moments with their family, and I learned about the cultural traditions of their region. It was an incredible experience. I also had the opportunity to spend a week volunteering at a Child Care Center, which allowed me to develop new skills (speaking English with 3-year-old children was a real challenge!). I warmly thank the whole family of Stephen for their hospitality, as well as Solène from Linguifamily, who pre-selected a host family that met both my objectives: a stay in Ireland AND volunteering. Linguifamily is a very serious language immersion company. My two children, aged 14 and 17, were able to have a quality stay in Ireland during the summer of 2023. Linguifamily has developed a very good idea by allowing families to get in touch and organize language stays with each other. One must take the time to discuss and make sure everything 'matches' and organize the stay themselves (dates, travel, documents), but Linguifamily guides and reminds us of what we need to do. It’s different from the standard packages offered by other agencies. I find this enriching system because it strongly involves both families in the preparation. The first immersion stay (without lessons) for our son was perfect, and the Spanish host family was very attentive and fully integrated him into their daily life and vacation activities. He came back with great memories and is ready to go again.
