My daughter spent 10 days at the end of June at Sean's and his family's place. Rather than wasting her time at high school in France where classes are only occasionally held in June, she preferred to go abroad and work on her English within an Irish family. He got along particularly well with Eddy junior; it was a bit like having an Irish little brother. This week immersion was really incredible. Despite my limited knowledge of English, I managed to understand and be understood. The level is adapted to the individual. All exchanges are in English, which greatly encourages expression and oral comprehension. Regarding writing, there is one hour of class per day which allows for good progress. These classes are fun and full of new knowledge (vocabulary and language structure). This helped me become a little more familiar with English. Paul and Rebecca are very friendly and caring. In addition, several activities are offered besides the classes and many moments of daily life. To summarize, besides sharing this language that is English, we can say that it is a sharing of their passions. It is accessible to everyone if one is willing. Catherine was a magnificent host, she made me feel at home and did her best to make my time pleasant and warm. The conversation in French was constant and she corrected me each time I made a spoken error, which I am very grateful for as I believe my French level has improved thanks to this time with her, Célia, Java, and Taiga! J'ai séjourné pendant 4 mois chez Aida en 2020. Je venais d'emménager avant que COVID ne frappe. Pendant le confinement (qui était l'un des plus stricts d'Europe), nous n'avons pas pu sortir de la maison pendant 2 mois. Nous avons cependant tiré le meilleur parti de la situation. Aida et Javier ont organisé des barbecues une fois par semaine et nous avons dégusté de délicieux plats et boissons sur sa belle terrasse. Nous avons également fait quelques excursions ensemble autour de l'île (après que nous avons pu à nouveau sortir de la maison). Aida, Javi et leurs amis nous ont donné des conseils locaux sur cette belle île qu'ils appellent chez eux. Mon espagnol s'est également beaucoup amélioré pendant mon séjour et j'ai appris quelques mots locaux et l'accent canarien spécifique que j'aimais entendre. Avec mes camarades de chambre (également des étudiants Erasmus internationaux), nous avons également communiqué en espagnol, ce qui était une première pour moi et a évidemment beaucoup aidé. Dans l'ensemble, j'ai passé un excellent moment pendant les quatre mois que j'y ai passés. Si vous souhaitez améliorer votre espagnol, en apprendre beaucoup sur la culture canarienne, la nourriture et les gens et vivre dans une atmosphère familiale avec des gens aimants, je peux vivement recommander la belle maison d'Aida. :)

I’m originally from the United States and I was working in Mallorca as an English Language Assistant at a primary school in Marratxi. During my time with Magda, she went out of her way to make me feel welcomed in her family. She showed me how to make different Spanish dishes and she taught me some of the pivotal differences between Spanish and Catalan. Our son, Jean, had a wonderful stay with Fiachra: full immersion (with lots of interaction and activities!), his Year-10 work placement validated by shadowing Fiachra at work, and a perfect relationship with Fiachra and his family (Jean truly felt like a member of the family!). Hello, I’m packing my bags to return to France after spending two weeks at Maria’s. The stay was very pleasant — the family welcomed me as if I were one of their own. Together with Maria, we went on six outings during which I discovered Malta’s monuments, hidden gems, and tourist sites. I stayed for three weeks with Stephen and Helen in Donegal, Ireland. I experienced unforgettable moments with their family, and I learned about the cultural traditions of their region. It was an incredible experience. I also had the opportunity to spend a week volunteering at a Child Care Center, which allowed me to develop new skills (speaking English with 3-year-old children was a real challenge!). Linguifamily has developed a very good idea by allowing families to get in touch and organize language stays with each other. One must take the time to discuss and make sure everything 'matches' and organize the stay themselves (dates, travel, documents), but Linguifamily guides and reminds us of what we need to do. It’s different from the standard packages offered by other agencies. I find this enriching system because it strongly involves both families in the preparation. The first immersion stay (without lessons) for our son was perfect, and the Spanish host family was very attentive and fully integrated him into their daily life and vacation activities. He came back with great memories and is ready to go again.
