My 17 year old daughter had the most amazing week with Catherine and her family. Catherine made her feel very at home and let her experience what life in Provence was like. In such a kind and relaxed atmosphere, my daughter felt very encouraged to speak French and her confidence to do so dramatically increased. My daughter visited beautiful villages and nearby markets, and sometimes even had dinners with Catherine’s friends, which really helped her to immerse herself in French culture. She also really appreciated going on dog walks around the area and also running with Catherine! My daughter had four French lessons with Catherine and she said that they were very useful, not only to improve her French skills, but also to learn more about current affairs in France. Catherine is the most caring and thoughtful host and I can not thank her enough for how kindly she welcomed my daughter into her home. I spent 2 wonderful weeks with Andrew and Mary's family. The girls were also lovely and accepted me as a true playmate. Andrew and Mary took me to many places with them as if I were a real family member. There wasn't a single moment when I got bored. Our son, Jean, had a wonderful stay with Fiachra: full immersion (with lots of interaction and activities!), his Year-10 work placement validated by shadowing Fiachra at work, and a perfect relationship with Fiachra and his family (Jean truly felt like a member of the family!). And as the cherry on top, Fatima is an exceptional cook… Communication with Fiachra was very smooth before the stay, and the same goes for the Linguifamily team. In short, the perfect language stay!

With the goal of improving my English, I chose to spend a week in total immersion in England, with intensive lessons. Hello, I’m packing my bags to return to France after spending two weeks at Maria’s. The stay was very pleasant — the family welcomed me as if I were one of their own. Together with Maria, we went on six outings during which I discovered Malta’s monuments, hidden gems, and tourist sites. Through the lessons, I truly became more familiar with the English language, and daily immersion greatly improved my skills. I stayed for three weeks with Stephen and Helen in Donegal, Ireland. I experienced unforgettable moments with their family, and I learned about the cultural traditions of their region. It was an incredible experience. I also had the opportunity to spend a week volunteering at a Child Care Center, which allowed me to develop new skills (speaking English with 3-year-old children was a real challenge!). I warmly thank the whole family of Stephen for their hospitality, as well as Solène from Linguifamily, who pre-selected a host family that met both my objectives: a stay in Ireland AND volunteering. Linguifamily has developed a very good idea by allowing families to get in touch and organize language stays with each other. One must take the time to discuss and make sure everything 'matches' and organize the stay themselves (dates, travel, documents), but Linguifamily guides and reminds us of what we need to do. It’s different from the standard packages offered by other agencies. I find this enriching system because it strongly involves both families in the preparation. The first immersion stay (without lessons) for our son was perfect, and the Spanish host family was very attentive and fully integrated him into their daily life and vacation activities. He came back with great memories and is ready to go again.
