Our host family was very friendly. Kyle gave a lot of his time to communicate with us, show us around, and share anecdotes, which allowed us to improve our English. We had a 4-day stay and yet we came back with a better level of English, and more confidence in ourselves because we dared to speak as much as possible even though we made a lot of mistakes! The important thing in the end is to be able to understand each other and acquire vocabulary. We were sometimes able to eat with our host, and sometimes out. We did some visits on our own and others with him. It's great to have a drink together in pubs that we would have never discovered without him and to soak in the English atmosphere while exchanging about our lives, our countries...

From July to early October 2025 (3 months on site), I had the chance to share the life of this wonderful family. My main goal was to reach a C1 level of English starting from scratch…. This goal was achieved, but beyond that, I have unforgettable memories of this long stay in Africa. Thanks to Dee, Erik, Kiara, Cassandra, Blane, and Antony, who made my integration into their clan feel natural, I quickly felt at home, which greatly helped with language learning. I can only thank them from the bottom of my heart because they did everything to ensure I discovered as much as possible with them. It would be too long to list the outings, safaris, various visits, restaurants, activities, meetings with their friends, the fabulous barbecues... And then, there is the African continent: what a change of scenery and constant beauty! There, life takes on a whole new dimension that shakes up our codes, which I didn’t mind at all. For this family, welcoming a guest is not a mere formality but a vocation; they love it and do it with such kindness and dedication that the 3 months flew by in the blink of an eye. Of course, we are always happy to return home to our loved ones, but I must admit I left them with a tear in my eye, even though I am still in touch with them since my return. In summary, I went into a host family but simply found a family of the heart in Africa. So, a huge thank you to them for all of this, and also to Lisa from Linguifamily who expertly handled the entire organization! And I speak English now!

Not only have I had the spanish practice I hoped for to help me improve, but with her help I’ve discovered that Santander is a beautiful city with so much to offer that a single week was far from enough. It was a bonus to find that most visitors are spanish so you are surrounded by the language, and locals let you practice rather than insist on using their english !

Everything was superb. 5 stars for each category. A welcoming, warm, charming family. Their house is clean with all the accessories. We had the opportunity to talk a lot or stay watching TV or reading. Sunday dinner with guests. The family gave me a tour of the castle and the local arboretum. I myself visited the courthouse to attend a case and a cemetery for a guided tour. I also attended a book club in the Nelson Mandela library. Angers is very historic. The castle-fortress, the seat of the Plantagenets (hence Richard the Lionheart) is the most wonderful building I have ever seen in my life. Thanks to Corinne, Scarlett, and Eliot my French conversation improved significantly. My bedroom and the toilets and shower were perfect. The meals were prepared in the French style. Everyone in the house offered to take me on visits to various things. I learned to cook a beef bourguignon. On Saturday we went to the market.

This is not really easy but Mary and Andrew's family proved me totally the opposite. I was lucky to end up in a family as wonderful as theirs, I felt like a member of their family. Every day we do activities, walks on the beach, eating ice cream, even simple things were so cool with them and when we come back to their house after a walk, we drink tea and we chat. This has greatly improved my English. At first, they talked to me a lot but I understood nothing because my English was really low, but little by little I started to understand the meaning of the sentence, the context, and by the end of my stay I could have a very fluid and interesting discussion. Our son, Jean, had a wonderful stay with Fiachra: full immersion (with lots of interaction and activities!), his Year-10 work placement validated by shadowing Fiachra at work, and a perfect relationship with Fiachra and his family (Jean truly felt like a member of the family!). And as the cherry on top, Fatima is an exceptional cook… Communication with Fiachra was very smooth before the stay, and the same goes for the Linguifamily team. In short, the perfect language stay!

With the goal of improving my English, I chose to spend a week in total immersion in England, with intensive lessons. Hello, I’m packing my bags to return to France after spending two weeks at Maria’s. The stay was very pleasant — the family welcomed me as if I were one of their own. Together with Maria, we went on six outings during which I discovered Malta’s monuments, hidden gems, and tourist sites. Through the lessons, I truly became more familiar with the English language, and daily immersion greatly improved my skills. I stayed for three weeks with Stephen and Helen in Donegal, Ireland. I experienced unforgettable moments with their family, and I learned about the cultural traditions of their region. It was an incredible experience. I also had the opportunity to spend a week volunteering at a Child Care Center, which allowed me to develop new skills (speaking English with 3-year-old children was a real challenge!). I warmly thank the whole family of Stephen for their hospitality, as well as Solène from Linguifamily, who pre-selected a host family that met both my objectives: a stay in Ireland AND volunteering. Linguifamily is a very serious language immersion company. My two children, aged 14 and 17, were able to have a quality stay in Ireland during the summer of 2023. Linguifamily has developed a very good idea by allowing families to get in touch and organize language stays with each other. One must take the time to discuss and make sure everything 'matches' and organize the stay themselves (dates, travel, documents), but Linguifamily guides and reminds us of what we need to do. It’s different from the standard packages offered by other agencies. I find this enriching system because it strongly involves both families in the preparation. The first immersion stay (without lessons) for our son was perfect, and the Spanish host family was very attentive and fully integrated him into their daily life and vacation activities. He came back with great memories and is ready to go again.
