Stefania and Renato were very kind and welcome hosts and qualified teachers. It was a very special experience to be able to study Italian as well as take advantage of the beautiful Amalfi Coast. There are many gems to explore. The lemon Orchard and garden where we stayed is lovely. The room was comfortable and clean, however, they need to attend to a few issues in the room. Overall, an unforgettable experience.
I had a really wonderful week with Carine and her family! They were so friendly and helped me in every way, especially with my language learning. Carine, and even her kids, were able to point out my mistakes with a lot of gentleness and quickness, which allowed me to learn while keeping the conversation flowing. We spent so many super relaxed and fun evenings together with their friends and even with their wonderful grandparents. We played and laughed together. We watched movies. I really felt at home. And Carine took me to museums, farms, cafes, and shopping. The guest room they prepared is really comfortable. I am so happy to have met these great friends and to have wonderful memories!
My language stay in Venelles near Aix-en-Provence was a very beautiful experience that I will not forget. I really enjoyed the different activities because they were fun and varied. During the activities, we often spoke French without stress, and it was a good way to practice the language. The atmosphere was always relaxed and pleasant. I also loved the region. Venelles is a calm and typically Provençal place, and Aix-en-Provence is a beautiful city with its small streets, cafes, and markets. We could really enjoy life in the south of France and discover many new things. During the stay, I made interesting acquaintances and experienced many great moments. This stay allowed me to improve my French, discover another culture, and have a very good time. I really recommend this experience.
Pascale was an exceptional host. She went out of her way to make me feel comfortable in her beautiful apartment, cooked wonderful meals every night, took me around Malaga, provided great company and great recommendations of places to go when she was working. Most importantly she was very supportive and helpful of my ongoing efforts to lean Spanish as a mature age person. I believe it was also helpful for me that Pascale also had to learn Spanish as an adult so could share her experiences and advice. Thank you Pascale and I hope I can stay again one day. Blue the dog also adds a lot of fun to the experience!
We spent a week at Maria's, who made sure to welcome us as if we were at home. We were two adult women and shared a room with a private bathroom. We did not choose to take English classes, but Maria made it a point to have us practice English at every breakfast and dinner. The meals were copious, Maria is an excellent cook, and she wanted us to taste a number of typical products from the island. Special mention to the fish! We enjoyed it so much that Maria insisted on preparing it for us a second time. Maria accompanied and guided us for two half-days, in Mdina and Valletta. We then continued our exploration of the city on our own. She was very helpful in organizing our week and provided us with great tips, both practical and cultural.
I was immediately welcomed by the family and was able to join in with the family activities including visiting the local Jules Vernes museum, a super visit to a big local event held at a nearby farm, and a lovely peaceful bike ride to visit some friends for an evening drink and a picnic by the river Erdre. The city of Nantes is busy with lots going on and the ambiance warm. It was easy to get from place to place and I could be independent very quickly. The house itself is in a village outside the main city but easily accessible. My room was very comfortable and well appointed. It was quite large and light with an ensuite bathroom. There was a very attractive and peaceful garden where one could share meals or relax. We spoke French almost entirely so that the language aspect was much enhanced. I thoroughly enjoyed the few days I spent there, and with lots to see and do I would happily return. Thanks of course to the whole family Peggy, Lysian, Cassandre and Ely for making this possible, despite a busy and active household.
We were very well received by Graziella and her family. We received good advice on our travel plans and she suggested interesting visits. She prepared us some nice local dishes. Therefore, we had an excellent welcome and with her, we exchanged a lot in English with my daughter and my 12-year-old grandson. We had a great stay in a spacious, very clean, and bright environment. We highly recommend Graziella for her warm welcome and kindness. Thank you, Graziella.
My 16-year-old daughter spent 15 days at Janet's and her family's home. They were all extremely kind to her, Janet took care of my daughter as if she were her own, and she and her husband always looked out for her well-being and talked with her. At my daughter's request, Janet found a "voluntary work" for her a few days a week, and on the weekends they visited several tourist spots nearby, and she returned to France with little gifts that touched her very much. Finally, the communication with Janet was excellent from the start; I felt very reassured as a mom! On her side, Nina will keep excellent memories of her stay in Ireland. Thank you again!
Upon arriving in South Africa, I did not expect to be touched so profoundly. I did not yet know that I was going to meet a family for whom hospitality is not an effort but a way of being. A given. A natural, deep generosity that envelops you from the very first minute. They welcomed me as if I were already a member of their household. They pick you up at the airport, take you back, look after you without ever being intrusive. Their kindness is of a rare sincerity, almost overwhelming. You can feel that everything is done with the heart, without calculation, without facade. For them, hospitality is not a service: it’s a value, a breath, a way of living. And then there are the classes. Here, nothing is fixed, nothing is standardized. They observe, they listen, they understand what you really need: your goals, your blockages, your wishes, your pace. And they build the sessions around you. You progress without realizing it because everything happens in a gentle, relaxed, caring atmosphere. No judgment, no pressure, no fear of making mistakes. We talk, we laugh, we learn, we breathe. They know exactly how to put you at ease, how to make you dare, how to help you move forward. It’s a learning experience that feels good, a liberating learning experience. Another aspect that deeply moved me is the cuisine. Every meal is a discovery, a journey within the journey. They blend South African, Indian, English, Zulu influences... and the result is simply extraordinary. Generous, flavorful, colorful dishes, prepared with sincere attention and a true pleasure in sharing. We taste, we discover, we exchange, we learn. The table becomes a meeting place, a culture hub, a space of human warmth. It’s a complete experience, an integral part of the stay. And then there is Port Edward. A small, peaceful town, gentle, surprisingly safe. I want to say it clearly: as a woman alone, I was able to walk alone, run alone, stroll by the Indian Ocean without ever feeling in danger. Here, people greet you, smile at you, talk to you with disarming simplicity. You feel respected, at ease, free. It’s rare, and it’s precious. The landscapes are wild and magnificent. The hikes offer breathtaking views that stay in memory for a long time. There’s no shortage of activities: crocodile farms, safaris, coffee plantations... and they bring a mix of discovery and wonder. But what I retain above all is this family. Their home is not just a place to sleep: it’s a refuge. A cocoon. A place where you feel heard, welcomed exactly as you are. Their way of opening their door, their table, their daily life… it’s something you don’t forget. You feel that they love to host, that they love to share, that they love to do good around them. It’s natural for them, almost instinctive. Not only did I progress in English, but I primarily found an inner calm, a confidence, a gentleness that I did not expect to find so far from home. This stay will remain in me as a bright interlude, a suspended moment where humanity takes its rightful place. Furthermore, one can entrust a teenager to them with complete confidence. They take care of them as if they were their own child, with exemplary attention, security, and kindness. They watch over, they accompany, they encourage. It’s a family that protects, that nurtures, that helps grow. A rare, profound, authentic human experience that I recommend 100%.
Helen welcomed me very well and offered me numerous activities during my stay. She did everything to make my stay at her place as pleasant as possible. She took great care of me. We talked a lot together, and that helped me to improve my English significantly. I have wonderful memories of this stay. Thank you, Helen!
I had the pleasure of staying for two weeks with Francesco and Giulio. An exceptional stay that allowed me to deepen my understanding of Italian culture, discover a beautiful region, and meet my hosts' friends who were very patient with my beginner Italian. The hosts introduced me to local culinary specialties; in addition to being great cooks, they are fine gourmets. I discovered passatelli, anisetta rosati (excellent in caffè), and il caffè Moretta! The excursions are very easy to organize from their place to visit nearby towns. The sea is a 20-minute walk away. The bus is 10 minutes away. Francesco is an extraordinary teacher and Giulio is a patient interlocutor. The suite offered to visitors is ideal, and the terrace is perfect for reading and daydreaming. The discussions were more than interesting. I recommend it without any hesitation.

A language stay is much more than just a trip abroad. It's a cultural immersion, a unique learning opportunity, and a powerful human experience. Whether you're a teenager, a student or an adult, choosing a language stay with a host family lets you live the language every day. Linguifamily is the first French platform for language stays for teens, students and adults, making immersion easy by connecting you directly with carefully selected hosts in more than ten countries worldwide.
Each language stay takes place in a warm, welcoming and safe family environment. Far from traditional summer-camp or campus-style formats, this one-to-one approach encourages genuine connections and real cultural anchoring. You can choose from many destinations: a language stay in Ireland, a language stay in England, a language stay in Canada, a language stay in Malta, a language stay in Spain, a language stay in South Africa, a language stay in the United States, a language stay in Italy, a language stay in Dubai… all through a simple interface and continuous support.
The platform offers total transparency: detailed host family profiles, integrated messaging, booking management, and 24/7 support. This enables everyone to plan their language stay with peace of mind, depending on their goals: improve your English, discover a new culture, become more independent, or enjoy a rewarding language exchange.
Language stays for teens are designed to meet the specific needs of young people aged 10 to 18. This format helps teenagers make fast progress in a language while enjoying an unforgettable human and cultural experience. Thanks to host family accommodation, every language stay for teens becomes total immersion: young participants practise the language from morning to night, in a caring environment.
Among the most popular destinations for teens is a language stay in London, highly appreciated for its cultural richness and the variety of activities on offer. Language stays in London combine discovering the British capital with natural English learning, while being hosted by a local family. The experience is just as captivating in other English-speaking countries such as Ireland, where a language stay in Ireland offers immersion in a calmer, greener setting.
Host families are selected according to strict criteria: ability to host young people, a safe family environment, and the motivation to share their culture. Language stays for teenagers often include local activities, excursions or entertainment, which helps integration and boosts motivation to speak the language. We have also been offering Summer Camps for teens since this year.
For teens looking for something more exotic, a language stay in South Africa offers a completely different experience. In addition to learning English, they discover a rich culture and spectacular nature. It's an excellent way to combine language learning, adventure and open-mindedness.
Language stays for adults are aimed at a wide audience: post-secondary students, career changers, professionals, or simply language lovers. Learning doesn't stop at school, and a language stay for adults makes it possible to restart or improve a language in a practical and stimulating context.
This format offers many possibilities: you can choose an English language stay in a city like London or Dublin, or opt for a sunnier, more relaxed destination such as a language stay in Malta. Each destination offers a suitable pace, with host families ready to adapt to your specific needs.
Language stays in the USA are also in high demand: spending a few weeks with an American family lets you dive into local culture, pick up authentic expressions, and significantly improve your spoken fluency. For this, the language stay in the USA offered by Linguifamily is fully customisable.
It's also possible to stay closer to home while still enjoying real immersion. A language stay in France is ideal for foreign learners or French speakers who want to improve a regional language or a foreign language with a bilingual host. It also helps avoid the constraints linked to international travel.
For those who want to improve without breaking the bank, Linguifamily also offers affordable language stays, by targeting certain destinations off-season or shorter formats. The accessible price does not compromise the quality of the welcome or the intensity of immersion.
The effectiveness of a language stay largely relies on total immersion and natural exchanges with the host family. Far from a classroom method, learning happens through practice: you learn by speaking, listening, and sharing everyday moments. That's what makes this format faster and more memorable than traditional lessons.
One of the key strengths of this approach is flexibility. Every family is different, and each participant can choose the environment that suits them: urban, rural, lively or quiet. It's also possible to filter by interests, languages spoken, or the type of activities offered during the stay.
Language stays in England remain an essential reference. Thanks to its proximity to France, travel is easy and the experience stays immersive. You'll practise rich English while being exposed to a wide variety of accents depending on the region. Others choose English language stays in Canada, where the environment is bilingual, or in more distant countries such as South Africa for a more intense immersion.
By choosing a language stay in Canada, participants enjoy a warm welcome, a safe environment, and North American-paced English. This type of stay is particularly popular with students and young professionals looking to work internationally or prepare for exams such as TOEIC or IELTS.
