In the morning, a European breakfast - or according to the hosts' choice - during which we will establish our program for the day or the following days.
In the morning, thanks to my experience as a teacher and a French as a foreign language instructor for migrants, I can provide an hour of French lessons: oral expression, vocabulary improvement, spelling, grammar, conjugation both orally and in writing using various materials: authentic documents, textbooks and files, computer...
At noon, we will have a communal meal at the apartment or outside in case of an excursion; I am a good cook and will share my know-how with you! It will be a pleasure to cook together and introduce you to new recipes with quality products. I will be able to adapt to special diets if necessary (for example: vegetarian cooking possible).
In the early afternoon, I propose a quiet and individual time. In nice weather - which is very common in Toulouse! - we can enjoy a break on a deck chair on the terrace or in the garden.
In the afternoon, starting from 2:30 PM, many outings are possible: Toulouse, whose center is accessible by metro not far from the residence, is a rich and friendly city with beautiful heritage. Depending on your tastes, we can visit different museums, stroll through the streets of the "pink city," go shopping, walk along the Garonne River, or tour the various parks and lakes in the city and its outskirts, visit the Cité de l'Espace or the Aéroscopia aeronautics museum...
From mid-May to the end of September, the residence's swimming pool is available to us, and it is not busy during the residents' working hours.
Dinner will be taken at the apartment between 7 PM and 8 PM, and the evening can lead to conversations in French, cultural outings (concerts or cinema, to be decided before the stay with a supplement); I also have DVDs, and Wi-Fi (fiber) is available in all rooms. I have TNT television, but I do not personally have Netflix.
Twice a week, I will propose an excursion: there are very beautiful sites in Tarn (Lautrec and its pastel culture, Cordes-sur-Ciel, a magnificent medieval town, Gaillac, Albi...) and I am open to any other suggestions; I love tourism and have a car.
And if you are eager to see the Mediterranean, a day trip to Narbonne or Gruissan is possible, but please prepare for an additional cost for this one hour and forty-five minute journey. To make an excursion in the Pyrenees, you will need to plan for a night in a gîte in advance, as the distance is longer.
The public transport network is very well developed and convenient in Toulouse: metro, tram, bus, bike lanes with bikes to rent from one place to another... Toulouse-Blagnac airport, 20 minutes by car from my home, serves many cities, as does the SNCF train station.
As a retiree, I am available for any transport connection (welcome at the airport or SNCF train station upon arrival, assistance for your return home) and to accompany you on all your outings.
