My 16-year-old son stayed for 10 days at Sandra's house. They live in a cozy place near the Pyrenees. There is always a lot of activity in their home, so he met many kids of similar ages. Sandra, Sébastien, Tissia, and Louka were always very nice and welcoming, and they made sure he always had activities. He also visited several nearby villages. My daughter had 3 unforgettable weeks in Saint-Georges with Marla and Mike. First of all, Marla is a very serious and responsible person when it comes to the administrative aspects regarding flights and the organization of the trip. She is also a very endearing person, very kind, who always makes sure your child lacks nothing. The 3 weeks passed very quickly, Marla always ensures to offer one or more activities during the day. For us, the goal of this language trip was that our child would not meet any French speakers and that she would be totally immersed. We are very satisfied with that. Mike also took the time to entertain our daughter by showing her beautiful viewpoints; they live in a nice region where hiking is great. Additionally, she discovered sports like pickleball, played board games, all in a warm and joyful atmosphere. Marla and Mike also introduced her to the heart of America by visiting friends in Wyoming for the national holiday where she met very friendly people; and the grand finale with a visit to Las Vegas! It was a wonderful experience, I highly recommend Marla and Mike!

A big thank you to Fiona for welcoming my 16-year-old teenager, who is rather shy and reserved, and who was able to enjoy his 15-day stay to get used to the accent and the language. Activities were planned every day (sightseeing, walks, cinema...). Fiona sent me daily photos and videos informing me of the day's program. Another guest who was a bit younger was also present during the same period: most activities were therefore done as a group of three. Fiona was particularly attentive, caring, and generous, offering activities far beyond what was initially agreed upon. This stay was perfect for a teenager!

Donna and John were very welcoming, I felt good since the first moment, like if I was part of the family. They are very nice, Donna asked me if everything was good, if I wasn’t bored but it was never the case because I did and I learnt a lot of things! I learnt things such as the pronunciation of new sounds for me (I’m French), I also learnt phrasal verbs and English expressions. (very useful!) Donna knows how to adapt her lessons according to the English level. I also learnt many different things, for instance: John explained to me the rules of the cricket, I watched the classic English sitcom “Only fools and horses”. I cooked and ate traditional dishes and I loved them, therefore I will do it again at home! Worthing is eclectic there are: the Channel, a swimming pool, museums, parks (with skateparks!), the pier with the seafront, a cinema, a theatre. Thanks to Donna’s bike all those things are close to the home. At forty-five minutes in bus there is Brighton, a city with many different and interesting things such as the Brighton Palace Pier with rides, the Royal Pavilion (really worth it!), the Brighton museum, the Laines district (must see!)… The dog, Oscar is very funny and sweet. He was the last to accept me in the family… thirty seconds after I walked into his home.

Family life, discovering Singapore with Christine, very varied outings! I recommend!!! It should be added that Singapore is a very safe city; my daughter (very shy) did not hesitate to venture out to explore the shopping malls and museums alone when the family, although super available, had obligations :) and this is really a huge plus, very comfortable for parents who are more than 10,000 km away! I notice small progress in English, that said in 8 days we cannot expect miraculous progress. Our son, Jean, had a wonderful stay with Fiachra: full immersion (with lots of interaction and activities!), his Year-10 work placement validated by shadowing Fiachra at work, and a perfect relationship with Fiachra and his family (Jean truly felt like a member of the family!). And as the cherry on top, Fatima is an exceptional cook… Communication with Fiachra was very smooth before the stay, and the same goes for the Linguifamily team. In short, the perfect language stay!

With the goal of improving my English, I chose to spend a week in total immersion in England, with intensive lessons. Hello, I’m packing my bags to return to France after spending two weeks at Maria’s. The stay was very pleasant — the family welcomed me as if I were one of their own. Together with Maria, we went on six outings during which I discovered Malta’s monuments, hidden gems, and tourist sites. Through the lessons, I truly became more familiar with the English language, and daily immersion greatly improved my skills. I stayed for three weeks with Stephen and Helen in Donegal, Ireland. I experienced unforgettable moments with their family, and I learned about the cultural traditions of their region. It was an incredible experience. I also had the opportunity to spend a week volunteering at a Child Care Center, which allowed me to develop new skills (speaking English with 3-year-old children was a real challenge!). I warmly thank the whole family of Stephen for their hospitality, as well as Solène from Linguifamily, who pre-selected a host family that met both my objectives: a stay in Ireland AND volunteering. Linguifamily has developed a very good idea by allowing families to get in touch and organize language stays with each other. One must take the time to discuss and make sure everything 'matches' and organize the stay themselves (dates, travel, documents), but Linguifamily guides and reminds us of what we need to do. It’s different from the standard packages offered by other agencies. I find this enriching system because it strongly involves both families in the preparation. The first immersion stay (without lessons) for our son was perfect, and the Spanish host family was very attentive and fully integrated him into their daily life and vacation activities. He came back with great memories and is ready to go again.
