My name is Mary Grace. I work remotely as a bookkeeper and also as a private English tutor. My husband Sean works as a carpenter and loves anything to do with woodworking and D.I.Y. Our older children are now grown up, and only our youngest daughter Lilly lives with us. We live in the rural countryside of West Clare, Ireland in a renovated old cottage.

The small guest room of the cottage (2.4m x 2.3m) offers an authentic home-stay experience for a learner that is functional and cozy. Just off the main sitting room, the bedroom is intentionally simple, features a single bed and a modest cupboard for essentials. The road-facing window allows for plenty of natural light. Next door to the bedroom, is a small office (2.4m x 2.3m) with a study desk, also just off of the main sitting room for the guest to use for private study.

I have a range of experience as a teacher and early years educator. In Indonesia I taught kindergarten and primary school to young ESL learners for 5 years. I taught adult ESL students at Griffith College Limerick and I have worked in Early Years Education for over 8 years. I enjoy supporting English language learners to achieve their learning goals, gain confidence, enjoy English, and refine their academic writing skills if required. We will collect the guest from Friar's Walk Bus Park, near the Clare Museum, and also from the Ennis Bus and Train Station and then drive them to our house which is 20 minutes drive away.
From Dublin Airport to Ennis: (3-4 hours) Most express coaches from Dublin Airport drop passengers at Friar’s Walk Bus Park (near the Clare Museum)

• Citylink (Route 712 Express): Departs from Zone 10 and Zone 11. This is a direct express service that bypasses Dublin City.
• Flight Link (Route 723): Departs from Zone 12, Stop 7. This service provides direct transit to Ennis with minimal stops.
• Dublin Coach: (Ensure the bus destination displays Ennis or Limerick/Ennis)

From Cork Airport to Ennis: (3-4 hours) The bus will arrive at the Ennis Bus and Train Station on Station Road.
Take Bus Éireann routes 225 or 226 from Cork Airport to Cork City centre (Parnell Place Bus Station). These run every 30-60 minutes. Then transfer to Bus Éireann Route 51 from Cork City to Ennis via Limerick, which takes around 3.5 hours.

From Shannon Airport to Ennis: (30-50 mins) The bus will arrive at the Ennis Bus and Train Station on Station Road.

The bus stands are located immediately outside the terminal building.
• Bus Éireann (Route 330): This is the primary local service connecting Shannon Airport directly to Ennis via Newmarket-on-Fergus.
• Expressway (Route 51): Larger coaches traveling between Galway and Cork/Limerick also stop at the airport. Travelers can board the Route 51 heading toward Galway, which makes a scheduled stop at Ennis Bus Station.

Life with your host family

A typical day in our home begins with a quiet breakfast. If you are an early riser, our kitchen windows offer a great view of the sunrise from our hilltop cottage home. Sean and Lilly will usually go out to work, and Mary works remotely from home, so the house is usually quiet during the weekdays.
