We are a united family of four. Our older son, 19, is currently studying and living in Dublin, our younger son, 14, is in 2nd year secondary school, living at home.
I run an art school with renowned Irish artists in a nearby coastal town, and my husband is an art/tech start up founder. We both often work from home.
We live in a lovely, bright, welcoming recently renovated Irish cottage with 4 bedrooms (180 m2) and a small garden in Annestown village, in county Waterford, 2 minutes walk from a beautiful safe swimming and surfing beach.
Our area is known as the UNESCO Copper Coast National Park, geologically rare and renowned for its coastal landscape. It is a short bus or car run to Tramore, a small town with shops, sport clubs etc., and Waterford, the oldest Irish town with museums, cinemas and a variety of festivals running throughout the year.
We all enjoy the outdoors – hiking in the beautiful nearby Comeraghs, swimming, surfing and kayaking on our Copper Coast beaches. Both boys are or have been part of a local scouting group.
We are interested in music (we also play musical instruments), visual art (we make art), technology, languages (we are proficient in French, Italian, Czech, Russian) and literature (Luke is an avid reader and writer).
Having experienced - both my husband and myself - family hospitality during our own studies abroad in the past, we would be happy to offer this experience to international students, and to have our sons benefit from this too.
