Welcome to Lisa and Oisin in Athlone, Ireland
We’re a dynamic mother-and-son hosting team based in Athlone, in the heart of Ireland. Our home sits right on the banks of the River Shannon, Ireland’s longest river, offering beautiful views and peaceful surroundings — the perfect blend of nature and local life.
My son is a rugby player with the local team, and if you’re sporty, you’re more than welcome to join a practice or attend a match with us!
📍 Where are we?
Athlone is the largest town in the Midlands, just 1.5 hours west of Dublin. We’re surrounded by culture, history, and scenic spots, with extended family living along the famous Wild Atlantic Way.
🐾 What’s around?
You’ll love discovering our region — from fairy trails, zip-lines, and a brand-new Hobbit village, to a traditional farm cottage and other unique outdoor attractions. Rain or shine, there’s always something to explore!
🥪 Weekend Ideas:
Grab a brunch box and enjoy a riverside picnic in Burgess Park, take a family photo with the stunning backdrop of the cascades and St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church, or head out to Clonmacnoise, a historic monastic site just 30 minutes away — one of Ireland’s hidden gems!
🎓 Language and Culture:
Mini-stay programmes are very popular here, and we tailor them to focus on Irish culture, traditions, and everyday life. We also offer optional add-ons like weekend excursions and extra activities to help you make the most of your stay.
Places we'll bring you to see.. Roscommon Castle, Elifin Windmill, Slieve Bloom Mountain Trail in woods with Cake and Hot Chocolate afterwards.....
We look forward to welcoming you into our home and sharing a true slice of Irish life with you!
