A stay very much appreciated by Agathe. She left with some apprehensions as her level of English at the end of 6th grade seemed quite insufficient for her to express herself and understand. Thanks to a warm welcome and rich and varied activities, she managed to get started and make progress. She was able to share good moments with several of the children (trampoline, pony, gymnastics, walks) and was touched by the welcoming nature of the whole family. One example: the Spanish girl who was welcomed with her had brought a deck of cards, and every evening several of them would play various card games. We also appreciated the photos sent regularly by Mary.

Ich war innerhalb eines Jahres 3x bei Geraldine. Sie wurde nicht nur eine Art Mutter für mich, sondern auch eine tolle Gesprächspartnerin. Sie hat viel mit mir geredet und mich immer korrigiert. Wir haben zusammen Brot und scones gebacken und haben immer sehr viel gelacht. Garry, Geraldine und Abigail waren immer sehr herzlich und fröhlich. Mein Schlafzimmer war sehr schön und ruhig, das Badezimmer war sehr schön und die beiden Hunde immer sehr süß. Das Essen war sehr variabel und frisch. Obwohl das Haus auf dem Land ist, hat Geraldine mich oft nach Tramore gefahren oder abgeholt. Geraldine und ich sind an einem Abend bei Sonnenuntergang an der Küste entlang gefahren und haben und Sie hat mir die Umgebung gezeigt. Ich war am Meer Surfen und im Waterford Christal Museum. Sie ist mir mit mir und anderen Studenten zum Killkenny Castle gefahren und hat mit uns unterschiedliche Sehenswürdigkeiten angeschaut. Öfters waren wir zusammen Shoppen oder gemeinsam einkaufen. Ich hatte eine wunderschöne Zeit. Mein Englisch hat sich sehr stark verbessert, nur weil Geraldine ständig dazu auffordert zu sprechen und Fehler mit Humor korrigiert und erklärt wie man es richtig sagt. Ich empfehle jedem in diese wunderbare Irische Familie zu gehen um eine schöne Zeit zu haben und gutes Englisch zu lernen!!

I spent a month with this family for two consecutive years. I was very scared because I spoke little English when I arrived and being very shy, I thought the exchange would be complicated. However, the family is kind and helpful with any request, and I felt comfortable right away. Moreover, I was able to meet many people from other countries who, like me, came to practice English. Even with the cloud for me it was a sunny day in Tramore. The thing that I appreciate most is that you treat your students like your sons, so you feel like at home. The organization is fantastic, every day you do something different, it can be a sport, a trip to another city, even a walk to the mountains, you will do a full immersion experience in the Luck Country. I recommend a holiday of, at least, two weeks.

We met Geraldine through a friend of my eldest son who had already stayed with her during the summer holidays. He was so delighted that he suggested my son return with him the following year. They spent about ten wonderful days there, filled with various activities, surrounded by other friendly young people, in a warm and caring family. It was so good that my second son went there the following year. He also had a great time, made friends there, and enjoyed the beautiful landscapes that Ireland offers thanks to the hikes organized by Geraldine. It goes without saying that this stay gave them real confidence in English, which was noticeable in school (high school). Our son, Jean, had a wonderful stay with Fiachra: full immersion (with lots of interaction and activities!), his Year-10 work placement validated by shadowing Fiachra at work, and a perfect relationship with Fiachra and his family (Jean truly felt like a member of the family!). And as the cherry on top, Fatima is an exceptional cook… Communication with Fiachra was very smooth before the stay, and the same goes for the Linguifamily team. In short, the perfect language stay!

With the goal of improving my English, I chose to spend a week in total immersion in England, with intensive lessons. Hello, I’m packing my bags to return to France after spending two weeks at Maria’s. The stay was very pleasant — the family welcomed me as if I were one of their own. Together with Maria, we went on six outings during which I discovered Malta’s monuments, hidden gems, and tourist sites. Through the lessons, I truly became more familiar with the English language, and daily immersion greatly improved my skills. I stayed for three weeks with Stephen and Helen in Donegal, Ireland. I experienced unforgettable moments with their family, and I learned about the cultural traditions of their region. It was an incredible experience. I also had the opportunity to spend a week volunteering at a Child Care Center, which allowed me to develop new skills (speaking English with 3-year-old children was a real challenge!). I warmly thank the whole family of Stephen for their hospitality, as well as Solène from Linguifamily, who pre-selected a host family that met both my objectives: a stay in Ireland AND volunteering. Linguifamily has developed a very good idea by allowing families to get in touch and organize language stays with each other. One must take the time to discuss and make sure everything 'matches' and organize the stay themselves (dates, travel, documents), but Linguifamily guides and reminds us of what we need to do. It’s different from the standard packages offered by other agencies. I find this enriching system because it strongly involves both families in the preparation. The first immersion stay (without lessons) for our son was perfect, and the Spanish host family was very attentive and fully integrated him into their daily life and vacation activities. He came back with great memories and is ready to go again.
