Welcome to Catherine and Bryan Family Farm
We are a family of 5 and work on our family farm. We live in the countryside. Horses play a large part of our lives. We absolutely love hosting and have hosted students for 20 years. We love days out exploring the countryside. If you love horse-riding and the countryside, you will love our family.
We do not offer the Total Immersion Guarantee, so there may be other students who speak the same language as you during the stay.
We love to welcome siblings and friends. We can cater for groups of 4 if required. We specialise in horse riding holidays.
If guests have any special requests please let me know and we will be happy to help. Happy to cook any type of meal as per request. We understand different likes and dislikes.
I (Catherine) am home all day as I am working from home. Our dogs are walked daily in a beautiful forest which joins our farm. We have sheep, cows, and horses. Horse riding is a regular occurrence. We have 4 beautiful horses which are ridden in our own arena and then on our farm. We can ride horses in the river and in the forest. Lots of country hacks on ponies. We also enjoy hill walking, cycling in the countryside, visiting castles and 'world famous Glendalough', Ducketts Grove, Kildare Village, Baltinglass Abbey, The Lords Woods, Russborough House and gardens, swimming, cinema, cycling, and a day's shopping. During summer we love to fish (and release) and go on picnics. We love to light a fire, make popcorn, and watch a movie at night. My daughters love to play a board game, bake some buns, or brush their ponies. We often eat out in nice restaurants and visit friends. We always welcome our students to make us a traditional meal or cake.
We love to host siblings or friends and will guarantee a brilliant time with lots of activities and days out. Once you are with us, there are no other expenses other than your own personal shopping.
I update parents daily on progress and photos, and I'm more than happy to carry out any special requests.

My 15 yo daughter Amélie has spent a wonderful week at Catherine and Bryan's with her friend Elisa. The girls were warmly welcomed by the family and enjoyed an activity packed week, including horse riding, visiting historical sites, fishing and generally having fun. Catherine was a very attentive host, reaching out to get to know the girls before they arrived, and sending daily photos and videos to the parents during their stay. Amélie has already said she'd like to go back.
Our 15 year old daughter Elisa and her friend Amelie have just spent an unforgettable stay at Catherine and Brian's Home. They were hosted like family. They experienced many activities each day with Catherine and her family including horse riding, fishing, walking, visiting some Irish sites around, cycling, cooking, spending time with the cows, sheeps and dogs... The family was lovely, sending pictures and news every day. Our daughter was delighted by her stay. Thank you again Catherine and Brian.
Notre fille Norah vient de passer deux semaines absolument inoubliables chez Catherine. Dès son arrivée, elle a été accueillie comme une véritable membre de la famille : chaque jour a été rempli d’attentions, de rires et de moments de partage. Le cadre rural, entouré de nature et d’animaux, ainsi que la passion commune pour l’équitation, ont fait de ce séjour un parfait accord entre leurs valeurs et les nôtres. Norah rentre chez nous avec des souvenirs précieux, une confiance renforcée et déjà un peu de nostalgie… preuve qu’elle a vécu quelque chose de vraiment spécial. Nous sommes profondément reconnaissants pour la bienveillance, la générosité et l’ouverture de cœur dont a fait preuve la famille. Sans hésitation, nous recommandons chaleureusement cette super famille à tous les parents qui recherchent un accueil sûr, attentionné et riche d’expériences pour leurs enfants. Encore mille mercis à toute la famille !

Tifenn (13 ans) est revenue enchantée de son séjour de10 jours dans la famille de Catherine. C'était sa première expérience toute seule, hors de la maison. Ma fille, d'un naturel timide, a pu s'épanouir à leur contact et oser se lancer à converser en anglais. Catherine, Bryan et leurs filles ont toujours été à l'écoute et bienveillants. Les activités ont été variées (vélo, promenade avec le chien Coby, équitation, visites, prendre soin des animaux, fabrication de cookies). "Ils sont adorables" est la phrase qui résume le mieux, dans la bouche de ma fille ce qu'elle a vécu en leur compagnie. J'ai pu le constater moi-même en allant récupérer ma fille à leur domicile où j'ai été reçue chaleureusement autour d'une "cup o tea" et des cookies. Nous avons échangé pendant 2h. C'est une famille vraiment charmante que je recommande et chez qui je renverrai ma fille sans hésitation.
Hello, I’m Salomé (17) and I came with my friend Coline. It was my second time in Ireland but first time without any adults ! And It was the best vacation ever ! The family is lovely and welcoming ! Catherine took us every where, visiting, shopping, walking,… Bryan is very funny, and both are the nicest person 😊 The girls are welcoming too, they took us cycling, horse riding, and we laughed a lot ! The dogs are nice and cute. We didn’t Have a boring day, always busy in a good way ! Learning english is easy in this family because they love speaking and they adapted according to our level ! If you want to book with them, don’t hesitate you will have so much fun with this amazing family 😃
Hello, we are 2 sisters (13 and 14 years old) and it was our first time in Ireland. We had a blast ! Catherine and her family are awesome. Catherine is very nice, dedicated and warm. Bryan is so funny and very food loving 😉, Eve and Grace are very welcoming and joyful. We did so many things like cooking for the dogs and the family (especially for Bryan), horse riding with the girls, shopping, exploring a giant maze, cycling… There are a lot of animals in the farm and it is awesome to take care of them. It is an experience we will always remember. You will have so much fun at Catherine’ s. Do not hesitate to book, they are the best family. Élise and Clémence We have already booked some vacations abroad for our girls but vacations at Catherine’s are definitely the best. The whole family is amazing and they will greet your kids warmly.
