Welcome to Lydie, Stéphane, and Elisa's place.
We are a French family composed of three people: Lydie, 51 years old, an English teacher; Stéphane, 55 years old, a magistrate; and Elisa, 13 years old. We love traveling abroad and are passionate about foreign cultures. We enjoy all forms of cultural visits, swimming, running, cooking, singing, dancing, painting, and walking our Bichon dogs.
I am an English teacher in a middle school and have also taught English in elementary school. I can offer French lessons for adults or children (I have already taught French in England as a language assistant).
We will offer cultural outings in Nantes, relaxing activities at the aquatic complex in Nantes, and we will go to the beach which is close to Nantes. We will cook typical French dishes together, take bike or walking trips in the forest.
We wish to welcome families who speak English with young children (11-15 years old) or one/two unaccompanied children.
We are also interested in language exchanges.

We are a family of 3 (and our two little dogs) who love to travel abroad. We are very sociable and always looking to meet new people during our trips. We enjoy sharing our culture and immersing ourselves in foreign customs.
I am an English teacher in middle school and I run mini-schools in elementary school. My methods are very playful.
I have also taught French in a middle school in London.
I enjoy painting, singing, cooking, running, and visiting museums in Paris.
My daughter Elisa loves listening to music, singing, dancing, swimming, baking, doing trampoline, and playing with her dogs. She does badminton, modern dance, and theater.
My husband Stéphane is a magistrate. He is passionate about running and cycling.
We will visit Nantes, discover the machines of the island, go to the swimming pool and the sea.
We will take walks either on foot or by bike, and we will take our two Maltese bichons for walks in the forest.
We will cook typical dishes from our region together, paint, and play board games in the evening after the meal, not forgetting of course the little evening reading before bed.
If you wish, I can provide French lessons to your child on a daily basis or a few hours during the week.
We would also be delighted to welcome you if you wish to accompany your child. We can accommodate a family of 3.

Mi marido, mi hija y yo, hemos disfrutado de una maravillosa estancia con Lydie y su familia durante unos días en Enero 2025. Su hogar es muy acogedor y han sido muy generosos con nosotros permitiéndonos disfrutar de la cocina tradicional francesa, acompañándonos a mercados locales, visitando juntos unas playas preciosas y paseando por zonas de campo con gran encanto.. Lydie ha estado en todo momento muy pendiente de nuestro bienestar y se ha preocupado de todos los detalles para que nos encontrásemos cómodos. Ha sido una experiencia muy enriquecedora que esperamos poder repetir en el futuro y recomendamos 100%.
I had an amazing stay with Lydie and her family. I've studied French in high school and college but never felt at ease with my speaking ability. A few days of immersion chez Lydie unlocked my comfort in speaking and oral comprehension enormously. Lydie's lessons were super helpful and perfectly adapted for adults. Lydie is a gracious and easy-going host. She made great meals that I was inspired to attempt back at home. I had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back! Thank you Lydie, Stephane and Elisa!
Lydie and family made my 16 year old daughter feel very comfortable and welcome. The french lessons were a big success, they were interesting and made her work hard. She really enjoyed immersing herself in french culture like going to watch Olympic events on the big screen in Nantes, she also liked cooking french recipes and eating the food. Thank you Lydie, you really made her visit interesting and fun!
Our 11-year old spent a week with Lydie and her family. She had a wonderful time. Lydie and her daughter Elisa were very welcoming, generous with their time and arranged lots of fun activities. Lydie communicated promptly and clearly with us parents. We would 100% recommend Lydie and her family.
