Bienvenue chez Christine et Jean-Pierre
We live in Dordogne, in Mauzac and Grand Castang, a village close to Bergerac. We are a couple and are used to hosting visitors and are passionate about sharing our culture. We live in a house located in the heart of the village, just a stone's throw from the Dordogne River. Mauzac is situated between Sarlat-la-Canéda, a medieval city, and Bergerac. The Dordogne is known for its medieval villages, castles, and prehistoric sites.
I work in the field of tutoring and my husband has recently retired. We will be available daily to guide you, share meals together, and advise you on visiting our beautiful region.
We are in the countryside, and there are few means of transport to get to the city. I make myself available for certain visits. Coming to our home means loving nature and tranquility.
However, there is a train station nearby that can take you to Bordeaux: if you are interested in wine tourism, museums, architecture, this city is a must-see!
We also enjoy going out, and local restaurants or bars regularly host small concerts, which makes for very pleasant evenings!
We only have one room with a private bathroom, so we can only accommodate a single person or a couple.
Your room will be on the first floor of our accommodation; it has a king-size bed, a dressing area, a bathroom with a shower and sink, and you will also have a small private terrace. The room is equipped with a television. Our house has a tree-lined garden, a terrace with a pergola, and a swimming pool. We have bicycles available, which allows you to enjoy the designated green paths and take beautiful walks if you wish.
I enjoy cooking simple and balanced dishes, and I can share this passion with you if you'd like. Breakfast can be an opportunity to organize the day's program and the days to come. In the morning, I can provide one hour of French lessons to work on oral expression, enhance vocabulary, and spelling. I will use authentic documents and adapt to your needs.
At noon, the meal can be shared at home or outdoors in case of an outing. I offer a quiet and individual moment after the meal, which will be a chance to enjoy the terrace and relax on a lounge chair in nice weather. The afternoon will be free or accompanied, depending on your wishes. It will be dedicated to hiking, cycling, or visiting the region (which I offer twice a week). Dinner will be served between 7:30 PM and 8 PM, and it will also be an opportunity to converse in French. From 9:30 PM onwards, everyone will have their privacy.
