A warm Irish Welcome with Gabrielle
I’m a retired lawyer and I love to host 2 international language children each year since 2017. So far I have a Spanish boy, aged 16, booked to stay with me in 2025/26 so I have a room for one other student. I have a little dog named Bono. He’s 14 years old, but very active and affectionate. He loves my students. We live in a house close to the river and a short walk from the city. The bus stop is just 2 minutes walk away. My hobbies include traveling, reading, gardening, and baking. Some students enjoy helping me make delicious cakes. I enjoy cooking too, and I make the most wonderful dinners for my students. I’m a very warm and welcoming person and I do everything I can to ensure my students feel at home in Ireland.
I have availability for one secondary school student for an academic year. The next year commences in late August 2025.
I have short term availability for one student.
I already have one Spanish student booked until May 2026.
I have availability for one student of any other nationality.
Normally I host students for an academic year. They quickly make new friends at school. I always encourage the students to bring their friends to our house for visits. I live very close to several beaches and my students always love to visit them. I bake a lot of cakes and many of my students enjoy helping. There are many clubs and activities close to us and, typically, students join a local gym or sports team.
In the winter we love to sit by the fire watching movies and drinking hot chocolate. I'm a big rugby fan. Sometimes, if a student is interested, we will go to a local pub to eat dinner and watch the rugby matches. We also live a short way from the mountains and a favourite excursion is to drive there and walk to a beautiful waterfall.
For short stay students I enjoy creating suggested activities tailored to the student’s wishes.
