I am a retired teacher, having worked all over the world for 40 years teaching English and French, from beginner to advanced level.
I live alone. I have welcomed many residential language learners to my home in the UK and in France. I enjoy welcoming people from many countries.

If a couple comes together and they want joint classes, that is fine if they are at the same level - an assessment/evaluation test will be set at the beginning of each course. If only one member of the couple wishes to have classes, that is fine as well. If a parent accompanies a child who is having classes, it is preferable that the child attends the classes alone. My flat is in the centre of Perpignan, therefore easy walking distance to shops, cafes and restaurants. I accept students from 15 years old.

The price includes 2 hours of English classes 1:1 per day from Monday to Friday. If the student requires 3 or 4 hours of classes per day for exam preparation, this can be discussed at the time of booking.

A typical day with us

After breakfast, there will be language classes, either French or English immersion classes lasting 3 hours or 4 hours per morning, obviously with a break for coffee or tea after 1.5 hours or after 2 hours halfway through the morning.
I can offer 3 hours per day - 15 hours classes or 4 hours per day - 20 hours classes per week.

Lunch will be light, salad, soup or sandwich then in the afternoons, a trip or outing can be arranged.
There are many places to visit in the area, as Perpignan is near the Mediterranean Sea, trips to the coast eg Argeles, Le Barcares, Port Vendres or Collioure are all popular.
There are many seafood restaurants on the coast and Leucate is one of the most famous oyster areas in SW France, is nearby.
Other towns to visit are Prades, with its local market and the Pablo Casals Music Festival last week in July and first in August is extremely popular featuring world class musicians.
Spain is 30 minutes away.
Plus the Pyrenees are nearby for hiking, climbing and skiing enthusiasts.

Evening dinner can be at home using Fresh local ingredients or in a local restaurant.

I set up my own English school in France, in Agen, which was a Cambridge Examination Centre. I have also taught EFL (English as a Foreign Language) and ESL (English for Second Language speakers). I have prepared many students for the Cambridge Exams, e.g., CAE (Cambridge Advanced Exam) and FCE (First Certificate in English). I have extensive experience preparing students for the IELTS exam, which is required prior to University entrance in the UK, Australia, NZ, and Canada. I have also taught Business English and run BEC courses (Business English Courses). I also worked as a Cambridge Examiner for many years.
