I really enjoyed my stay with Laurie and Milan they were both so warm, welcoming, and fun. The food was delicious. I was there for three weeks and we had a different supper every night. They are not complicated or formal. It was like staying with old friends in their lovely cozy home. They picked me up from the train station when I arrived and drove me to the tram every morning. We did some lovely sightseeing on the weekends. And I got to try some board games that I hadn’t played before. Laurie and Milan were very patient and encouraging my French so I was able to get lots of practice using French. I have lots of lovely memories of my stay with Laurie and Milan.

The house was in a very quiet small town of Templemore. The room in which I lived was very warm. It is a very welcoming and smiling family with two very nice children too. During this stay I was able to discover the different cultures, city and language of this country. We were able to have a pleasant time with the family such as admiring the Halloween parades in the cities of Galway and Limerick. We were able to create a link with the children as in the morning we took them to school, so we did fun activities. We were able to visit different monuments in the cities near Templemore: the castle "Rock of castel", a park "Cahir park", the forest of Templemore where we can walk, the sea in Galway so I was also able to take a 2-hour horse ride in Rusheenmore. I also participated in the Halloween walk in the evening in the forest next to the house with the children. It was full of unforgettable moments and where I enjoyed it. We went to Susan's with my son Basile, who is 11 years old, for a mother-son stay. Susan did everything to make us feel comfortable and organized plenty of activities for Basile so that he could learn while having fun. She tailored all the meals to his tastes. We could really feel that her primary goal was to please us. Her apartment is very pleasant and extremely well located, across from the beach. We had a very enjoyable week of vacation, while taking our English lessons on the beach, in the water, on the boat, in restaurants. What a pleasant way to work and make progress! Our son, Jean, had a wonderful stay with Fiachra: full immersion (with lots of interaction and activities!), his Year-10 work placement validated by shadowing Fiachra at work, and a perfect relationship with Fiachra and his family (Jean truly felt like a member of the family!). And as the cherry on top, Fatima is an exceptional cook… Communication with Fiachra was very smooth before the stay, and the same goes for the Linguifamily team. In short, the perfect language stay!

With the goal of improving my English, I chose to spend a week in total immersion in England, with intensive lessons. Hello, I’m packing my bags to return to France after spending two weeks at Maria’s. The stay was very pleasant — the family welcomed me as if I were one of their own. Together with Maria, we went on six outings during which I discovered Malta’s monuments, hidden gems, and tourist sites. Through the lessons, I truly became more familiar with the English language, and daily immersion greatly improved my skills. I stayed for three weeks with Stephen and Helen in Donegal, Ireland. I experienced unforgettable moments with their family, and I learned about the cultural traditions of their region. It was an incredible experience. I also had the opportunity to spend a week volunteering at a Child Care Center, which allowed me to develop new skills (speaking English with 3-year-old children was a real challenge!). I warmly thank the whole family of Stephen for their hospitality, as well as Solène from Linguifamily, who pre-selected a host family that met both my objectives: a stay in Ireland AND volunteering. Linguifamily has developed a very good idea by allowing families to get in touch and organize language stays with each other. One must take the time to discuss and make sure everything 'matches' and organize the stay themselves (dates, travel, documents), but Linguifamily guides and reminds us of what we need to do. It’s different from the standard packages offered by other agencies. I find this enriching system because it strongly involves both families in the preparation. The first immersion stay (without lessons) for our son was perfect, and the Spanish host family was very attentive and fully integrated him into their daily life and vacation activities. He came back with great memories and is ready to go again.
