We are a busy, loving, and welcoming military family based in San Diego, California. Our home is full of laughter, activity, and connection, and we truly enjoy opening our hearts and home to exchange students from around the world. Over the years, hosting has become something very special to our family, and we love creating an environment where students feel like more than just guests — they become part of our family.
Our family includes my husband, Cody, who has proudly served in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years, myself, and our five children. Our kids range in age from 18 months old to almost 20 years old, giving our home a fun mix of energy, personalities, and stages of life. We have four boys and one girl, and life in our home is active, loud, and never boring! Between homeschooling, sports, family outings, movie nights, beach trips, and everyday family chaos, there is always something going on. We value kindness, honesty, communication, inclusion, and making memories together.
We have hosted several exchange students in the past from countries including Italy, Spain, Brazil, Norway, France, Vietnam, and Germany, and each experience has brought lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories. Hosting students from so many different cultures has taught our family so much, and we genuinely love learning about different traditions, foods, languages, and ways of life while also sharing American culture and Southern California experiences with our students.
As a family, we enjoy spending time outdoors, going to the beach, exploring San Diego, trying new restaurants, watching movies, attending local events, and simply spending quality time together at home. We also understand that every student is different. Some students love being involved in every activity, while others appreciate quiet downtime, and we strive to support each student in whatever helps them feel comfortable and happy.
Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive, fun, and genuine family experience where a student can grow in confidence, create lifelong memories, and truly feel at home while they are in the United States. We know how important this experience is, and we are honored every time a family trusts us with their child.
