In our family, we are 3 members. Our son Samy is very sociable and communicative; he is passionate about basketball and the world of cars. Samy has a B2 Cambridge English certificate, but he is coming here to learn Spanish and, if he wants, a bit of Italian as well, since my husband, Paolo, is from Venice (Italy). I am Magda, the mom and housewife, so I can be very involved in your adaptation and learning of Spanish.
We have been living in Murcia for 2 years; before that, we lived for 25 years in Valencia, although I am from a town in Albacete in the region of Don Quijote de la Mancha. With us, you will learn Spanish very well in a VERY PLEASANT AND FUN way, but if you want something more academic, don’t worry; we can help you with classes at an academy very close to home.
We live in a VERY QUIET residential area with a POOL, with impressive silence and SOME BREATHTAKING VIEWS. There is a park with swings and a basketball court next to us. We are very well located, in a well-established area in terms of services of all kinds, with a tram 7 minutes away on foot. We also have a bike lane next to our house, which you can use to explore the entire city, as well as its river promenade and orchard paths.
You can reach the city center in 7 minutes, the Zig Zag Leisure Center in 5 minutes, where we have the Great Regional Library, by the way, very "cool," and in 12 minutes, we reach the largest shopping center in the city, "Nueva Condomina."
Murcia is a city with a student and university atmosphere, highlighting the San Antonio Catholic University of Murcia "UCAM," where you can find the Murcian Escorial, LOS JERÓNIMOS, which is a 10-minute walk away. Nearby is the Noria Outlet Shopping. The University of Murcia is 6 minutes away, and the UMU university campus is also 6 minutes away.
If you want the beach, we have it 45 minutes away, specifically talking about CABO DE PALOS, which is like a "pearl" for how beautiful it is. Valencia is 2 hours away, and my town, Villarrobledo, famous for its Viñarock, wines, and cheeses, is also 2 hours away.
Murcia is a small but VERY BEAUTIFUL and CHARMING city, with a lot of life in the streets, both for leisure and for outdoor sports. The weather is pleasant all year round; winter doesn’t exist here; it’s like an eternal spring. There are many courts for both basketball and paddle tennis throughout the city, but since we are next to Juan Carlos I Avenue, you can also sign up for the JC1 gym with a heated pool.
In Murcia, people are very friendly and hospitable. You are going to FALL IN LOVE with the city and with us; YOU WILL BE BETTER THAN AT HOME, AND YOU WILL COME BACK!! Note: Bring your house slippers.
