While every day can vary depending on our work schedule and the guest’s interests, here’s what a typical weekday might look like in our home:

🌅 Morning

Start the day with breakfast—toast, eggs, fruit, cereal, tea / coffee etc. We’ll chat during breakfast, offering a relaxed chance to practice English. Depending on the day, I may head to work (as an aesthetician) while my daughter also attends to her clients. Due to client confidentiality and GDPR regulations, guests cannot join us during working hours, but we’ll help plan your day with ideas, directions, and tips. Guests may use this time to explore the local area, visit nearby attractions, or relax at home.

🕘 Late Morning to Afternoon

Suggested activities during this time include:
Visiting Historic Rochester with its castle, cathedral, and high street shops. Shopping or dining at Bluewater, Medway Valley, Dockside Outlet Centre or Pentagon Shopping Centre etc. Capstone Country Park or The Strand Leisure Park. Solo study, drawing, journaling, or creative time if you're artistically inclined. We’re happy to recommend cafés, libraries, or public spaces where you can meet locals or join community events.

🥗 Evening

Once we’re back from work, we’ll usually have dinner together or sit down for a chat. This is a great time for informal English conversation, asking questions, or just sharing how the day went.

🌙 Night

Nights are generally quiet and relaxed. Guests have full privacy in their room but are always welcome to join us in the sitting room if they’d like some company. We’ll check in to see if there’s anything you need for the next day—plans, directions, or help with English practice.

🚗 Optional Services

Airport or train station pickup is available for an additional fee (please request in advance). On weekends, we sometimes plan trips to local attractions and guests are always welcome to join if they’d like.

Your experience will be tailored based on your goals, whether you want full immersion and lots of interaction, or a more independent stay with occasional support, we’re flexible and happy to adapt!

Welcome to our home on Chatham Hill and get ready for a day filled with cultural exchange!

We are a small, friendly household: I’m a qualified aesthetician/nurse of 30 years, and my adult daughter is a lash tech-in-training. We both work in the beauty and wellness industry and enjoy sharing our passion for creativity and self-care. Outside of work, we love singing, drawing, and staying active through walks or playing sports. We have experience welcoming guests into our lifestyle, and are proud of our ability to create a warm, supportive atmosphere!

We’ve been hosting students for over five years and have also had several French au pairs stay with us. Through these experiences, we've developed a deep appreciation for cultural exchange and have seen how much language learners benefit from being part of our day-to-day life. Whether you're joining us for a walk, helping with simple errands, or enjoying meals together, you'll be surrounded by opportunities to practice and improve your English naturally.

Your accommodation includes a private, comfortable 3-bedroom and access to shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. We can host up to 3 guests at a time.

Our home is located on Chatham Hill, a vibrant and well-connected area with easy transport links. Regular buses run into the town centre and nearby cities, and Chatham Station offers direct trains to London, making it ideal for weekend trips or commuting.

Locally, there’s plenty to see and do:

* Pentagon Shopping Centre- is nearby for everyday shopping, food, and local stores.
* Dockside Outlet Centre- offers great deals on fashion, cinema, ninja warrior, home goods, and restaurants by the water.
* Historic Rochester- is just a short drive or bus ride away, with its beautiful castle, cathedral, and charming high street full of cafés and boutiques.
* The Strand Leisure Park and Capstone Country Park- offer outdoor fun and peaceful walks.

On weekends (or weekdays when I'm not working), we’re happy to take guests on outings to explore attractions. If you have specific interests—like shopping, history, art, or sports—we’ll do our best to tailor activities to match.

Carefully selected families

Families wishing to host with Linguifamily must first create a detailed listing, with photos, a description of their living environment, and the activities they offer. We then verify the identity and criminal records of each family member and conduct a one-hour video interview to ensure their profile perfectly matches our expectations.

Each Linguifamily host family has committed to respecting our Quality Charter. Only the most serious, welcoming, and caring families are accepted and listed on our platform.

Secure payments

Linguifamily acts as a trusted third party for payments. Our payment interface, hosted by Société Générale, guarantees the confidentiality of your banking data and the security of each transaction.

We will ask you to pay a 30% deposit by credit card at the time of booking. The remaining balance will be due 6 weeks before the start of the stay, payable by credit card, Chèques Vacances, or bank transfer.

Book with confidence

Free cancellation up to 48 hours after payment. If the host family needs to cancel the stay (due to family or health issues), our team will offer you other host families that match your criteria, or you will be fully refunded.

We also offer coverage through Axa Travel Assistance insurance, which covers costs such as repatriation or cancellation in case of urgent medical or family emergencies.

24/7 assistance

A question, an unexpected situation, or a need on-site? Our team is available 24/7 to support you continuously, before, during, and after your stay.

Problems are very rare, but in case of any issues, we intervene quickly to find a solution with the host family or, if necessary, offer you an alternative.

Train or flight travel not included

The journey to your host family (plane, train, or bus) is at your expense... and that's good news! It allows you to freely choose your travel dates based on the most affordable prices and the schedules that suit you.

However, your host family may offer to pick you up from the train station or airport (either for free or as an optional service).
