Welcome to Luna & Nigel's home
My name is Luna and my husband is Nigel. We have 3 children; Samuel is 28 years, Sephora 26 and Laurel 22. Our children left home and are all in employment. The girls travel a lot for work and they love that. Nigel and I work; Nigel is in property management and I am a language teacher and host. At the moment, I have a host student who is currently learning English. We have a very good relationship, I often help him practice English and he loves it.
Our home is quite pleasant and is only a 5-minute walk from the seafront, therefore we often go for a walk by the seafront.
Nigel is very funny as he jokes a lot and is relaxed about many things, he does not let things frustrate him. He works very hard and I am proud of him. Over the years, I have become relaxed as well about a lot of things and I enjoy spending time with Nigel and we laugh a lot. We also travel whenever we can. We have an excellent relationship with our 3 children; we often see each other, eat together, go on holidays together, and laugh together.
I enjoy having host students; they are a joy and are respectful. We have a beautiful relationship, and often when needed we help them with English, take them out and talk to them about English culture, habits, and the best places to visit.
My availability during the day depends largely on the age and interest of any student who stays with us. We live in a very quiet, safe area, within walking distance of many places of interest, such as Gunwarf Keys shopping village, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, the D-Day Museum, and an excellent sports centre. Furthermore, the ferry port to visit the Isle of Wight is only a 5-minute walk from our home. We also live a short walk from Portsmouth Historic Cathedral. This means our guest is free to explore during the day, however, where my other commitments allow, I will be more than happy to accompany our guest to the many activities in and around Portsmouth. Furthermore, I can accompany our guest on day trips to places such as Brighton, the nearby Roman City of Chichester, and London (only a 90-minute journey away). Thank you.
My town Portsmouth is a great place for volunteering or work experience. Portsmouth is a university city therefore it is very vibrant and there are many shops, 2 museums, 2 big libraries, and several restaurants. Therefore, these facilities always offer volunteering to young people, and applying is also quite easy.
