I am a mother of 3. I have 2 sons & a daughter, between the ages of 29 and 23, so please note I am very familiar with young people! : )
I have hosted many foreign language students and my guests have been between the ages 17-54 years old. I am happy to host guests that are 16 years and over.

Volunteerism

We can help the student find an internship, a small job or volunteering opportunities. I cannot personally offer a job but many of the students that I have had stay with me in the past have taken voluntary, non paying jobs in the local charity shops that we have in the area. They have found this a great experience to develop their language skills and an additional bonus to add to their C.V.

Life with your host family

The guest room is a single room with separate sole use of W/C. I work from home 2 days a week so I am available at this time. The remaining part of the week, I am working in the office. I usually leave home at 8 or 8.30am. On the occasions that I may leave home before the guest, I would expect the guest to be capable of switching on the alarm, locking the front door and leaving the house secured.

I spent a week at Rosalind's. Rosalind and her daughter Henna are very good at giving advice and are attentive. They chatted with me during dinner but also during the day, I really felt immersed.
