Welcome to Jeannine's in Shropshire
We live in Shropshire, a beautiful county in England, full of countryside, rivers, lakes, and mountains. As a family, we enjoy walking, meeting new people, and learning about new cultures. I trained to be a French and English as a foreign language teacher and taught French and English to adults and teenagers. Later, I trained to be and worked as a psychotherapist. After having my children, I trained as a Chaplain and worked in psychiatric hospitals and prisons. I currently work full time as a Sales Counselor. My husband, Gareth, works as an IT consultant. He enjoys playing musical instruments and racket sports, as well as going to the gym and walking. My Son, Caleb, 17 years old, loves to learn languages, study, play computer games, swim, go to the gym and play his guitar. My daughter, Lydia, 14 years old, loves to socialise with her friends, go shopping, ice skating, swimming and play computer games. My husband works full time as an IT consultant, my son is at college, studying for his A-levels, and my daughter is at school, studying for her GCSEs. We live in a detached house, very close to woodland and lakes. Our local town is a 10-minute walk away, and other towns are easily accessible by train and car. As a qualified Modern Foreign language teacher and EFL teacher, I am passionate about language learning. The county has several beautiful historical and cultural places of interest and many mountains, rivers, and lakes to explore. If you like walking and sightseeing, you will not be disappointed. We are very happy to welcome you into our home so that you can spend time with our family and improve your English.
We would prefer to host from age 16+.
A typical week? It all depends on what you like and what you wish to do. At the start of the week, I can pick you up from a train station or Airport, show you your room, and introduce you to the family.
I work full time, therefore, I am here for breakfasts, evening meals and throughout the evenings and weekends.
Excursions are possible (sometimes with additional costs) such as a trip to the beach, Chester city, Cadbury World, the Zoo, Museums, cultural outings, as well as mountains, lakes and river walks.
My children can join us in the evenings, weekends and school holidays.
We eat together, as a family, around the table every evening, giving you opportunity to practice your English.
On the weekends, you can have free time or join in with possible excursions.
