Welcome to Rose, a very experienced host family.
I am Rose, for the past ten plus years I have been hosting students who come to me to improve their English. I absolutely love doing this work and am very happy to say that 99.9% of students who have come, have loved being here and have improved drastically in their English, their understanding, vocabulary and speaking. I have worked with teenagers and children all my life. My career was in social work and I always did voluntary youth work. Working with teenagers has always been a joy for me and I really believe I have a passion and ability to relate to teenagers which is beneficial for all of us.
I have been divorced now for 13 years and I have three children. Presently only one of my children live at home but we all see each other regularly. They are amazing human beings and the joy and pride of my life. They are very happy with students and all relate well. I live in a large modern 4 bedroom house with 3 bathrooms and 2 living rooms and a large garden.
We do not offer the Total Immersion Guarantee, so there may be other students who speak the same language as you during the stay.
Work in a charity shop hours would depend on what you require.
We have so much fun and do lots of activities, often including a Water Park, Zip Lining, Tree Trekking, Escape rooms etc. We go sight seeing to many beautiful places, most free or minimal charge.
In the evenings we play lots of games together and interact in many ways. This ensures children are comfortable, relaxed and constantly communicating. We always find something to amuse all of us. We sometimes watch English TV with English subtitles but not often as we are usually busy doing other things. I provide students with reading material and encourage and help them to read if they wish and I am happy for them to write either stories or more often, a diary, which I will correct, while helping them to expand their writing abilities and vocabulary.
