Live in the home of an English teacher.
Amber has been hosting and teaching English to children and young people for 8 years.
She is TEFL certified and has a lot of experience creating engaging and fun immersive programs to improve the English speaking ability of children and young adults.
Amber has worked with children of all ages for 13 years. First as an early years practitioner, then as an independent childminder, as an ESL teacher in a school in Spain and online for an independent school in Paris. She now works as a general teaching assistant in a high school in the UK.
Amber has four children.
Jasper 11 - a super friendly boy who loves to be out on his scooter and bike!
Georgie 17 - a keen photographer, guitar player and an awesome cook!
Indi, almost 19, is travelling the world with her super friendly personality and awesome hospitality skills!
Oscar 24- is a very talented young film-maker and also works as a teaching assistant in a primary school in Bristol UK!
Amber lives in a house with Jasper and Georgie (Georgie is away in the summer and the older 2 are both off doing their own wonderful things!) in a terraced house in the beautiful city of Norwich.
Norwich is a cathedral city and district of the county of Norfolk, England. Norwich is by the River Wensum, about 100 mi (160 km) north-east of London.
Norwich claims to be the most complete medieval city in the United Kingdom. It includes cobbled streets, Timber Hill, ancient buildings, many medieval lanes, and the winding River Wensum that flows through the city centre towards Norwich Castle.

One of the UK's popular tourist destinations, it was voted by The Guardian in 2016 as the "happiest city to work in the UK" and in 2013 as one of the best small cities in the world by The Times Good University Guide. In 2018, 2019, and 2020, Norwich was voted one of the "Best Places To Live" in the UK by The Sunday Times.
There is so much to do in the city! Cinema, bowling, shopping, plenty of cafes and also beautiful river walks, parks and beautiful architecture.
We live in a lovely part of Norwich just a 6-minute walk into the city so we are in an ideal location.
There is a small airport in Norwich and the next closest airport is London Stansted.
We can host up to 2 students of the same gender at a time. The bedroom has 2 small double beds. There is 1 shared bathroom for students to use. We can do the transfers from Norwich or London Stansted airports. The airport transfer would be by train with me. Norwich 30 minutes. London Stansted 1 hour and 40 minutes.
We ask all students to speak only in English with us and the other students when we are together during lessons or activities.
A good breakfast to start the day -9 - 10am
English lessons - 10am - 12.30pm
Lunch together with the family and other students 1 - 2 pm
Afternoon activities 2pm - 7pm - Walks/sports/ trips out to the beach/ city/ or places of local interest.
Dinner followed by evening activities 8pm - 9pm - English games and quizzes/ boardgames and cards/arts and crafts/ BBQ/music and or cinema events in the town.
All activities are with the host family and the other students to ensure the maximum time of English speaking during the day.
We also cater for vegetarian / vegan / and gluten free diets.
Eva est revenue enchantée de son séjour d'une semaine. Elle a tout adoré ! Les cours, les activités cuisine, jeux de société, les balades... Amber est très disponible et à l'écoute. Une semaine c'est court mais l'a bien aidé en anglais et de voyager seule a permis de la responsabiliser un peu. Encore merci à Amber et sa famille. Le contact avec les parents avant le départ , à l'arrivée, au retour au top ! Eva prête à repartir .
Tom a passé un super séjour chez Amber, il y est parti en trainant les pieds ... au final je n'ai eu que très peu de nouvelles durant le séjour, et ça c'est très bon signe chez Tom. Il y a rencontré des nouveaux copains, a profité des sorties, et a renforcé ses bases lors des cours. Merci Amber pour cette quinzaine qui lui a fait grand bien !
Mon fils Sacha est revenu enchanté de son séjour chez Amber : les cours étaient géniaux, les sorties intéressantes ou sportives sans oublier les camarades rencontrés. Amber s'est montrée disponible et à l'écoute des besoins exprimés. Sacha exprime déjà l'envie de repartir l'année prochaine !
Mon fils Henry, avec un faible niveau en anglais est parti chez Amber à reculons, peu enclin à quitter le domicile familial; il est revenu totalement enchanté de ces deux semaines passées en compagnie d'adolescents de son age, pour certains français, pour d'autres étrangers. Outre l’accueil et la bienveillance de Amber, la camaraderie qui s'est instaurée entre jeunes gens, mon fils a pris gout à l'anglais, sur le trajet retour il ne faisait que parler anglais et jouer avec l'application que Amber lui avait indiqué. A un an du bac, je regrette de ne pas l'avoir envoyé plus tôt, son niveau et sa curiosité pour la langue ont en 2 semaines totalement été inversés. Ce séjour a réellement développé son anglais, son autonomie, son envie de découvrir d'autres pays et de rencontrer d'autres jeunes gens. un très grand merci à Amber et sa famille qui, à n'en pas douter, auront marqué Henry dans sa vie d'étudiant!
Jeanne a passé deux semaines chez Amber . Elle a adoré l accueil , les cours et les activités Même si il y avait des français , ils parlaient anglais pendant les activités Les cours sont vraiment adaptés Amber et sa famille accueillent si bien les jeunes , qu ils veulent rester ! Ce séjour sera inoubliable Encore merci
Ma fille de 17 ans avait besoin de se perfectionner en anglais pour ses futures études... Lingui Family m'a été recommandé : quelle chance ! Ma fille a passé 15 jours inoubliables chez Amber : cours le matin avec des pauses piscine bien appréciées, déjeuners en groupe avec ambiance très agréable, très souvent des sorties les après-midis (grenade, kayak, marche, shopping...), les soirées jeux - malgré la chaleur, ils ont été sans cesse occupés... Ma fille repart bien triste : une très bonne entente avec le groupe, des activités très sympas, une famille adorable, un anglais bien plus fluide... Merci Amber d'avoir été si bienveillante ! Nous vous remercions de tout coeur...
Mon fils Antoine a passé 8 jours chez Amber, deux autres étudiants étaient la et l'ambiance était fort sympathique, je constate de petits progrès en anglais, ceci dit en 8 jours nous ne pouvons pas espérer des progrès fulgurent. Je retiens surtout la bienveillance et l'attention d'Amber envers ces jeunes qu'elle reçois chez elle. il est certain qu'Antoine retournera chez Amber l'année prochaine. Je recommande sans hésiter cette famille.
Mon fils a beaucoup aimé son séjour, les enfants ont toujours été super actifs et bien pris en charge d'une manière générale. La communication avant / pendant et après le séjour super (oubli d'affaires !) 1 bémol pour mon cas : 5 frenchys sur 6 durant le séjour. J'avais (mal) compris que les enfants étaient en total immersion et pourraient donc vraiment progresser. Idem pour la journée de départ, prévoir un vol en début de journée si possible, car 3 départs ce jour là et dernière journée entièrement passée à l'aéroport sachant que le vol est encore parti avec 2h30 de retard, c'était un peu long.

Ma fille a adoré son sejour chez Amber, famille tres acueillante, nombreuses activités, maison et lieu magnifiques. Elle a beaucoup aimé les cours aussi. Nous recommandons!
